Dear Conservatives; ISIS etc? Forget it, the US is broke.

Dear American conservatives

Just one question;

Many of you demand that ISIS be swept away immediately and that the US re-engage militarily with the world.

Yet youve been telling us for years that the US is flat broke, its been all over Fox news.

1/So how are you going to pay for it all?

Borrowing?

Raising taxes?

2/What programmes would you cut?

3/How will you sell this to the average American voter?

Please, this time, no 'oh libs are stoopid etc etc', just post the straight up facts as you see them. Make your case.

 

We should sit by like (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) Europeans, and do nothing. That will save us a buck.

 

Pretty sure we destroy a ridiculous amount of bombs every year or so. Come to think of it, we destroy ridiculous amounts of everything that we could give away.

Plus, it wouldn't take much to simply throw some on our bombers that are flying routine missions anyway and have them be used for target practice.

 

Reduce all federal spending across the board by an amount equal to what is needed to destroy Isis.

 

Or reduce US foreign aid.........

 

Foreign aid is part of federal spending and would receive an equal cut.

You're goading us into rationalizing the claim that America has no money, however, you're not considering the premise that reality of having no money doesn't matter to current leadership.

But since it does matter to you, and to congress, and to Republicans, you cant swat it down. You can only dodge.

If later borrowing needs increased to pay for an expanded war, are you willing to pay more taxes for it?

 

Cut federal education spending by 80%. American education spending is a state and local issue anyway and most funding comes from there.
Freeze beginning new infrastructure projects. Maintain what we have.
Raise the Medicare and Social Security retirement age to 70 on a staggered basis. Age goes up to 66 if you are now from 55-60. Up to 67 if you are now 50-55 and so on.

Freeze Social Security disability and strictly evaluate all future applicants before granting them.

Raise gasoline taxes 10 cents every year for 5 years.

Eliminate the Import-Export Bank. Eliminate the Small Business Administration.

Cut at least four cabinet departments.

The Chinese do not own the United States.

IIRC the numbers, American citizens themselves and the British own about the same percentages of American debt as China.

 

Interesting stuff.

1/ Is this all to pay for more war or just to make the US financially prudent overall?

2/ If I were a life long SS contributor now facing a freeze, how would you justify this to me?

 

1) Both. No war lasts forever.

2) Add up your "life long contributions" adjusted for compounded interest and point out that if you were really getting what you paid in then you would only get benefits for 3-5 years (numbers vary depending on various factors but 3-5 is not far from the mark).

Cutting all foreign aid for 10 years would save us 370 million. I say cut it all.
