In other words, people don't generally adhere to the Ten Commandments, but appreciate them for a sense of basic values and justice and as something to be honored for historical and religious value. The notion that Sharia Law is some kind of tyranny that will take over the United States and subject us to a kind of draconian theocratic rule is fearmongering, xenophobic bullshit. But Sharia Law is one of those things that agitators regularly misrepresent and abuse to keep some Americans all fearful and angry, which makes them easier to manipulate and control.

 

Sharia law is in place in many countries, none of which you like to live in.

 

It was enlightened for its time. Women had the right to inherit, own property, get divorced, have child custody and write their own marriage contracts at a time when women in the west had NONE of those rights.

 

It is nothing like the 10 commandments.
If you are gonna make such a rediculous claim, Back it up!

 

Keeping people ignorant and afraid is a pretty common tactic.

 

Its also different from country to country.

 

And it's easy. They do it to themselves, mostly. The rest is just not going to the effort to educate them. In fact, people can be so stubborn about their views, there's a good chance you can't educate them even if you try. It's far easier to feed them hype and propaganda than genuine facts that they don't want to hear
