    Doesn't bother me. She certainly qualifies and instead of worrying about other home owners "carrying" the burden perhaps we should expect government to carry the burden and control spending.

    I am no fan of that woman but 1) that she is a disabled veteran qualifies her and 2) compared to most Senators, she doesn't seem to be getting a bunch of questionable income. She pays her taxes in Virginia where she is required to because it is not her primary residence. She simply seems to be benefiting in Cook county because of her disability status.

    This is an excellent example of the shitty, yellow journalism within so many FOX News stories and especially in the headlines.

    Even the FOX news article admits that she is exempt from property taxes under IL law, since she is a decorated war veteran who is also a DOUBLE AMPUTEE, but still, they put out that shitty, lying headline just in order to feed the trumpy base.

    So, NO, she doesn't have to pay property taxes at all, no matter how rich or poor she may be.

    Fox is just putting out any **** it can to see what may stick.

    Oh how weary I am with the people whining "I'm carrying the burden" and it's twin brother "I don't want MY tax dollars going for X,Y, or Z..". Well the simple solution to that is STOP PAYING THEM....then all you'll have to worry about is where YOU'LL be going.

    The idea that Fox would whine about this is infuriating. Our wounded vets have already paid more than enough.
