    Everyday..MORE of the same.

Revelations of Obama negligence in protecting the US from Russian cyber attacks during the election, now even have his fellow democrats throwing stones.

    The worm has truly turned...

Democrats Back Trump Assertion That Obama Administration Is Responsible for Failing to Halt Russia Election Meddling

U.S. President Donald Trump and senior Democrats joined in blaming Barack Obama for not doing more to stop Russia interfering with the 2016 presidential election.

In an early morning tweet, Trump appeared to acknowledge that Russia had meddled in the election. He has previously decried multiple investigations into alleged collusion between his officials and Russia as a “witch hunt.”

Special Counsel Robert Mueller, as well as House and Senate committees, are investigating Russia's interference in the election and the alleged complicity of Trump officials. The president encouraged greater scrutiny of the Obama administration, tweeting Thursday: "By the way, if Russia was working so hard on the 2016 Election, it all took place during the Obama Admin. Why didn't they stop them?"

Trump’s Democrat rivals also criticized the former president Friday, after the Washington Post reported that U.S. intelligence briefed Obama in August that Russian President Vladimir Putin had personally ordered a campaign of interference to help elect Trump.

Democrat Eric Swalwell, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, criticized Obama for being excessively cautious.

“[The response] was inadequate. I think [the administration] could have done a better job informing the American people of the extent of the attack,” he said.

Others accused Obama for failing to sufficiently sanction Russia once the election was over and the Trump administration was preparing to take power.

In testimony before the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, former director of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, said that evidence of Russian hacking had been uncovered by the FBI last August, but said the Obama administration was reluctant to respond for fear of being accused of partisan attempts to influence the course of the 2016 election.

According to the Post, Obama and key advisers were concerned that Russia could launch a potentially crippling attack on U.S. voting systems before election day.

Yea, Obama should have come out and said, 'The Russians were hacking into our election to give Trump the victory'.

Maybe things would have turned out different.
But then of course Republicans would be crying that Obama influenced the election. And Trump would still be crying it was rigged.

Instead of today where we have Trump heading to prison.

Oh,Wait. That's this time next year.

It was never any Russian hacker attacks, there is no one serious proof or evidence.
All claims are invention of liberals and MSM presstitutes to bound Trump and to destroy the Earth in WWIII.

How childish. Obama didn't have to "come out" and say anything. He certainly should have be using his Mighty17 Intell Agencies to counter the Russians, as well as WARNING BOTH PARTIES of the threat, which he did not.

You excuses do not cover his negligence.

Yes, the worm has turned and is staring at Trump. Finally, he has acknowledged the Russian connection, and maybe when he
has completed his criticism of Obama, he will run with the ball and take responsibility for what is happening today and will do what is necessary to prevent future incursions into our electoral system.

Hardly. There isn't a SHRED of evidence of collusion, and NEVER WAS.

The American people realize this, and are now asking the REAL QUESTIONS, like WTF was Obama doing when this crap happened? Oh yeah , illegally wiretapping domestic political opponents, that's what, while we were cyberattacked.

    Dereliction of duty.

Why Didn’t Obama Do More About Russian Election Hack?

The Obama administration didn’t respond more forcefully to Russian hacking before the presidential election because they didn’t want to appear to be interfering in the election and they thought that Hillary Clinton was going to win and a potential cyber war with Russia wasn’t worth it, multiple high-level government officials told NBC News.

"They thought she was going to win, so they were willing to kick the can down the road," said one U.S official familiar with the level of Russian hacking.

The administration did take action in response to the hack prior to the election. In September, President Obama privately confronted Vladimir Putin about the hacks at the G-20 summit in China. He warned the Russian President of unspecified consequences if the hacks continued.

On Oct. 7, the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued an unprecedented joint statement pointing the finger at Russia, saying hacks of U.S. political groups and individual politicians could only have been done with the authorization of "Russia’s senior most" officials and that its intent was to undermine the integrity of the election.

Democrats and Republicans alike have criticized the Obama administration for not being more forceful.

"I think it is a legitimate question and I think given the stakes at the national level the question deserves an answer," said retired Adm. James Stavridis when asked by NBC News about the level of the administration’s response. "In retrospect it certainly seems as though it was a mistake not to call the Russians sooner and respond to them in a very forceful way."

The latest intelligence said to show Putin's involvement goes much further than the information the U.S. was relying on in October, when all 17 intelligence agencies signed onto the joint ODNI/DHS statement attributing the Democratic National Committee hack to Russia.

Intelligence sources emphasize to NBC News that there is no evidence that Donald Trump collaborated behind the scenes with Putin or the Russians. A senior intelligence official also said that the possibility of Trump shifting his position on the hacks "will scare the bejesus out of the Kremlin."

    Where did he do that?

    I see the word IF.

If? If? If means he's saying it happened? How much more fake news can you get?

I'm sick of hearing about Russian hacking every day since the election. It is a completely overblown excuse of democrats. There are much bigger threats to the US than any amount Russian's meddling in the past election. MSM is much more capable of swaying an election that any foreign government. Not even the far left media was able to change election results. There can be no denying that the media certainly tried, almost non stop 7 days a week for nearly 18 months before the election in November 2016.

Do election results matter? Yes, but to what degree? We endured 8 years of Obama administration failed policy and outright lies but luckily most of the damage done is reversible. Jen Johnson to this day continues to lie even under oath. Johnson: said the Obama administration was reluctant to respond for fear of being accused of partisan attempts to influence the course of the 2016 election. That of course is a lie. We know Obama endorsed Clinton and actively campaigned for her. Obama and his entire administration definitely tried to influence the past election, but even he could not change the will of the people.

It is plain stupid to believe that Russians had any real effect on the past election. What about future elections? We could be bombarded with as good or better hackers from other countries or inside the US in future elections. Election tampering and illegal voting should be a bigger concern but if future election hacking is to be mostly stopped, we need to return to paper ballots and ban states from early voting. Absentee voting should only be allowed with good cause and validated.

Gruber was right, Americans are basically stupid. We unknowingly bought Obamacare. Even that is reversible if we really want to and no one is going to die over it.

Fantastic overall post. I quoted just this piece, especially the part I bolded, because of the absolute truth it acknowledges. We had the NY Times actually stating it was going to war against Trump. I cancelled my LA Times subscription because it was nothing more than a daily cheer leader for Hillary, while taking every opportunity possible to dishonestly tear down Trump.

Ultimately, there were enough sane people in this county to reject the orchestrated effort of the leftist MSM to steal the election. The endless beating of the Collusion drum is finally toning down because a dead horse can only be thrashed for so long. The actions of the left have really been a stain on society since the election.

I thought Pres. Trump has basically called Russia meddling in our elections a Witch hunt by the Democrats, but now that he can't deny it anymore its Pres. Obama's fault. Classic.

To some, Obama’s determination to avoid politicizing the Russia issue had the opposite effect: It meant that he allowed politics to shape his administration’s response to what some believed should have been treated purely as a national security threat.

[Rep. Adam] Schiff [(D-CA)] said that the administration’s justifications for inaction often left him with a sense of “cognitive dissonance.”

The administration doesn’t need congressional support to issue a statement of attribution or impose sanctions,” Schiff said in a recent interview. He said many groups inadvertently abetted Russia’s campaign, including Republicans who refused to confront Moscow and media organizations that eagerly mined the troves of hacked emails.

“Where Democrats need to take responsibility,” Schiff said, “is that we failed to persuade the country why they should care that a foreign power is meddling in our affairs.”.....snip~

    https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattv...ussian-meddling-did-he-drop-the-ball-n2345789

Yet Schiff still looks to blame Repubs despite Johnny Quest McCain jumping out and saying what Russia did was an act of War. But then Schiff doesn't want the Demos to take all the blame or responsibility. The usual Demo tactic.

Although, the Press should have bursted his bubble asking him why doesn't he recall McCain jumping out into the limelight. Just how did he forget that in his clogged dense grey filter. Just where were you ADAM-12?

Schiff is not even a good lawyer. He is a joke as a politician. McCain has always been a ass. Congress is a select private club that allows a few cannibals but who will not regularly entirely consume each other.

"If" the queen had balls she would be king. "If". Trump is blaming Obama for the Russian intervention. No "if", ands, or buts about it.

If the fight feels the need to blame obama to finally accept Russian interference then go for it. It's better than the idiotic claims all the intel is wrong and it was 400 pound hacker on his bed.

It's almost as if liberals aren't as tribal as conservatives. In the eyes of liberals, Obama was a good president, but with flaws. In the eyes of conservatives, Trump is literally the greatest human being, with the biggest fingers, and the longest penis, and the greatest hair, and the manliest physique, and etc. the world has ever seen.

I agree it is hard to stop hacks after the fact, but Obama was also spying on US citizens, probably including Trump's campaign, We didn't know about that until later, according to our leaders.

I don't understand how Obama would have feared a strong reaction to Russia would have politicized the campaign since he was opening speaking in favor of Hillary.

I also don't understand how Russia could have crippled our voting system since local precincts are not interconnected, and much of their business is still conducted on paper, at least in rural areas.`A national level might be possible but not locally.

Maybe the campaign was reluctant to let the FBI and others inspect hacked servers because the chicanery associated with squelching Bernie Sanders' attempt at the nomination would be uncovered.

You are definitely seeing less "collusion stuff" on the news, hopefully we can agree the Russians hacked and Trump did not collude and move on with the country.

You are laboring under extreme thinking. Obama didn't have to come out and say anything. He only had to give the orders to fight it. However, he was too busy directing his people listen in on regular citizens, and to obstruct justice in the Clinton investigation.

I am relieved that you say "according to our leaders". If only your leaders were a little more truthful, they might be a little more credible.

I'm sure Obama told them to stop or he'd have to say stop again. I believe Obama didn't want her to win for 2 reasons.

    1) She might do so much better as President than he did, he'd be remembered as the new Jimmy Carter.
    2) If she won, there would be no need to book speaking engagement to "fight" the evil Trump, drawing handsome fees in the process.

Obama secures $800,000 for two speaking engagements

    Exactly.

I'm glad to see that this issue has picked up a bit of traction. One of Glenn "Instapundit" Reynold's recent columns mentions The Administrative Threat by Philip Hamburger who traces the origins of administrative law back ever further:

Hamburger explains that the prerogative powers once exercised by English kings, until they were circumscribed after a resulting civil war, have now been reinvented and lodged in administrative agencies, even though the United States Constitution was drafted specifically to prevent just such abuses. Today, the laws that actually affect people and businesses are seldom written by Congress; instead they are created by administrative agencies through a process of “informal rule-making,” a process whose chief virtue is that it’s easy for the rulers to engage in, and hard for the ruled to observe or influence. Non-judicial administrative courts decide cases, and impose penalties, without a jury or an actual judge. And the protections in the Constitution and Bill of Rights (like the requirement for a judge-issued search warrant before a search) are often inapplicable.

Trump was sent by US, to regain control of the government, for US. It's a Trump sized task and he may very well accomplish it.
