Both candidates voted against the party line in the impeachment. Both voted their conscious.

Why bash Tulsi Gabbard, yet heap praise on Romney?

To me, it shows a disconnect. It shows a party absorbed with party line politics over values such as integrity and courage.

ETA: Not to mention Tulsi Gabbard was right. Trump was acquitted in the end, and it was common sense that he would be. There was no chance of ever getting the votes to remove Trump.

I was hoping to get a logical explanation. If this has already been discussed, maybe someone can point me to the link??

They are against Trump and his policies, I think that's the main reason why.

ok, and Tulsi is very critical of Trump. It doesn't make sense. Romney is a fake who changes policy opinion with the crowd he is addressing who probably only voted for impeachment because he is jealous of Trump. Gabbard voted 'present' because she could see the whole thing was a big waste of time. The Democrats are latching on to Romney though. Makes no sense.

Tulsi Gabbard pissed off much of the rest of the Democratic establishment for other reasons. Including notably her criticism of Hillary Clinton.

I think that their biggest problem with her is that she is not enough of a foam at the brain pan radical for them. They just don't trust her. As for Romney, they are simply cheering a political turncoat.

Are you referring to her endorsement of Bernie Sanders in 2016, the year the DNC rigged the primary in HRC's favor, making Tulsi Gabbard someone who stands up for integrity in elections?

I can't believe anyone would ask "why?" The Democrats are for whatever gets them power. That is it and that is all. They do not want to help the people. They want power.

I just want a democrat to give me a valid reason from their perspective.

She abstained! How can that be a vote of conscience?

It is a vote against the Article without giving the opposition a vote in their favor. That is the whole point of abstaining or voting present.

Yeh, Mitt was an azzhole that killed a woman, didn’t pay taxes, and tied his dog on top of his car. A complete degenerate. Miraculously he’s now a man of great renown. Funny stuff.

When did Mitt Romney kill a woman?

I’m not inclined to look it up but when he was running for President a story went around that he cut an employee off health insurance and she croaked.

That in no way means he killed her. She might well have died even with insurance coverage.

Agreed. I was making a point using sarcasm. I’ve always loathed Mitt for his politics, but never liked all the lies told about him by leftists. It’s so bizarre he wants to be BFF with them now after how they treated him as a presidential candidate.

Because Gabbard hasn't banned assault weapons and implemented state run healthcare yet like Romney has.

I don't know who, specifically, you are citing. Some folks "bash," and others don't.

Willard gave quite a speech, further ennobled by the reactionary dung-geyser from the sewers that it triggered, and the inevitable cry baby vindictiveness of the forever-impeachee.

Logically but simply: Romney is a nice marshmallow that fuses about Trump. Gabbard is a Democrat that is not afraid of objectivity and seems to have principles. The Democrats in their natural Pavlov dog fervor suck up to one and bash the other. Despise Trump: good; be reasonable: bad. It is just that simple.

Man! That's some struggled logic. If you do a "vote of conscience" that means you vote with your conscience. What kind of "conscience" do you have when you don't vote with your conscience because that would give the opposition a vote in their favor.

    Nonsense beyond belief!

Because anymore that goes against the Clinton's gets the full force of professional smear artist David Brock thrown at them.

    Did I miss something?

When did Romney leave the GOP to run as a Democrat?

I don't watch Faux News, so this would be something new for sure -- if there is a grain of truth to it, which as the previous hundred times show, it's only freaking rumors generated from RWM.

The ONLY thing Dems are praising is Romney's courage to refuse to walk in lock-step with the spineless GOP. I understand he's not being invited to CPAC.....ooooooh, that's such a snub!
