Her's a question for you. That 25 year old gal caught red handed for leaking government property to the press is seriously facing 10 years. Today Comey admitted to the same thing. Wonder when they'll be coming for him? Perhaps now America understands why President Trump told Comey he demands loyalty. Leaking is an indictable offence!

 

So using this logic the only way a president can obstruct justice is by asking someone to lie? Or is that ok also?

I think Comey's memo was not a "leak" in that no classified document(s) were shared with the media. Also, I believe he had his friend read the memo to a reporter.
If on the other hand Comey admits that he used [his words] "his classified laptop" to compose them memo, it might technically have been more than just ordinary government property though probably with no markings. The document in question was requested by a member of the senate today and Comey said he would produce the written document.

Comey was rightfully fired with cause. He is a weasel. His use of quotation marks in his prepared statement implies the text to be his exact words, verbatim. I would be surprised if he is not asked at some point if he used any electronic recording devices which would be illegal or if he just has the gift of total recall of his 9 conversations.
I also don't buy his reason for recording Trump and no others such as Lynch or Obama. Meeting minutes are usually mandatory. I think the FBI calls them 302's.

Lieing probably isn't obstruction either, we know obama administration asked Comey to lie that hilary was under investigation, probably not a crime but shady.

 

Actually you missed the part where Trump wasn't under investigation period, all the way til the day Comey was fired. Flynn's issues weren't even viewed as being tied to the russian investigation. Comey told us both those things today.

Everyone is so focused on the "hope" comment that most are just ignoring the later comments about Trump wanting anyone in his circle with possible illegal or undisclosed contacts investigated.

Considering everything that was said, I came to 4 conclusions.

1. Trump is prone to very inappropriate conversations and requests.

2. There was no obstruction as it appears Trump was looking to get his already fired and disgraced friend from being prosecuted for non disclosure.

3. Comey is a spineless wimp. He was cowed into mischaracterizing an investigation for the Hillary campaign. He was so intimidated by Trump he was hiding behind curtains and afraid to be in the room with him. Not to mention that he was afraid to say Trumps requests were inappropriate.

4. Trump, the MSM, Comey and the dems all had a bad day. None of their bad days compare to how bad Lynch's day was. I expect an investigation into her and her meeting with Willy any time. Unless they are just roped into Muellers investigation.

Honorable mention for bad days goes to McCain. I think it's time for him to hang up his feigned outrage and retire.

 

The FBI is directly under the President, he has authority to fire the director for any reason at all! If Comey thinks he was let go unfairly it is within his right to have it arbitrated and if found in his favor he will be allowed six months of unemployment benefits until he runs out and then he will join the ranks of all the other forgotten!
