Dershowitz was at one point aligned with Democrats, but in the last few years he has referred to himself as a Civil Libertarian. The majority of opinions I have seen him share have been deeply considered from the context of the Constitution and the body of legal precedent that accumulated in the last two centuries. He, appears to me to be closely similar in his interpretation of Constitution to that of Scalia; I suspect few would classify Scalia as a liberal. That said, you don’t need to be a Constitutionalist to see the Dems are pursuing any avenue of trying to undermine support for Trump, counting on the fact that a significant portion of US voters have virtually no understanding of the Constitution, but take their cue from the MSM priesthood. Few of Trump supporters are defecting, rather they see the circus for what it is and are becoming more entrenched in their support.
Personally, I hope the House Dems send articles of impeachment to the Senate, but, probably not for the reasons most liberals would suspect.
