He say's they dont work, he's right. The virus is still here. All the shutdown did was devastate the economy. Nice to have a gov who is not a petty dictator.

KISSIMMEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday ruled out imposing any further coronavirus restrictions or a mask mandate, despite rising case numbers across the state and nation.

DeSantis said there would be “no lockdowns, no fines, no school closures. No one’s losing their job because of a government dictate. Nobody’s losing their livelihood or their business.”
“That is totally off the table,” he said.

Monday’s event at Boggy Creek Elementary was DeSantis’ first news conference in weeks, meant to highlight a new order allowing schools to stay open for the rest of the year.

I'm so glad I live in a state with a reasonable governor and I support DeSantis wholeheartedly.

He's right, all the lockdowns did (and are doing) are devastating the economy.

I'm convinced the virus will runs it's course and at some point, we'll all be exposed if we haven't already.

The mayor of my city is not enforcing the state's mask mandate. Our case rates have not gone up in terms of percentages. In fact, our mayor had an awesome press conference specifically ordering police not to enforce these "guidelines". I clapped after.

All the scared liberals are just getting in the way of our nation progressing.

    He's wrong.
I'm convinced that we'll all be 95% immune after taking the vaccine if we haven't already caught it.

I'm sure people who watch their loved ones dying a horrid death couldn't give a **** about their life savings.

And yet the virus remains, despite crippling shutdowns.

I bet they do, people and businesses still have to survive. If the lockdowns and mandates worked, we wouldn't be talking about it again 7 months later.

People will die, it's a virus and some are vulnerable.

I'm betting we see more governors do the same in the coming weeks.

So unless ALL of the virus is wiped out, there is no reason to bother to reduce deaths and severe illness?

Because causing tons of small businesses to go bankrupt worked so well the first time....lets do it again and it will work...this time, it will be different. According to the powers that be, we had over 250K deaths.

    Amen!

Had dinner Sunday with some Illinois relatives. Its their kids last year of high school. They were house shopping down here. Pritzker has them 100% fed up and done with Illinois, gotta remember to get a housewarming gift.

This whole WFH thing is going to really sting the big cities in the next 18-24 months. Now that people can relocate without losing their job, they are doing it just as fast as they can.

Rumor is that big tech is not planning on returning employees to cubicles. Game changer.

    Florida, Texas will benefit immensely.

Who needs it? Or maybe I should say. Who needs 5 months of that crap.

I can fly up and visit the slush any time I want. Odd how infrequently I choose to do that.

But without shutdowns for mitigation, another several hundred thousand more deaths would be worth it?

first you need to prove how many lives the shutdown saved.

Just in case it was not noticed, though, it may become apparent again real soon for Christmas.

The economic devastation has been proven, your point has not. That the virus is surging again, proves that.
