    It's hilarious how the New Yorker think musicals are full of gay people. Where is the outrage over this horrific stereotyping?

    Edit, although there is a musical that really is full of gay people and it's at the end of Blazing Saddles.

    I know the NYorker labeled this as satire but I think its something else entirely. Satire is the deliberate use of exaggeration to discredit that which is seen as being worthy of ridicule. The alleged basis of this satire the DeathSantis 'Don't Say Gay' bill. Here's the problem. The 'Don't Say Gay' label is self-inflicted satire; the people who push it are ridiculing and discrediting themselves by perpetuating an obvious lie as no where in the bill is any law forbidding 'gay'. So what do we call satire that is actually satirizing its own creator without them realizing it? I think we need a special word for that.
