Despair may be a mood for the Loyal Democratic voter

but certainly not the self absorbed leadership elite who created the

pay to play DNC and their media silencing Sanders in '16
    and Tulsi Gabbard in '20.

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

Near the end a lot of democrats will be putting their hands out and Bloomberg will be greasing their palms and suddenly the Pocahontases of the world will be back in love with rich people. Just watch.

There may be dispair in the Democratic party, but whatever. Trump is a symptom of our problems, not the cause, as democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang says.

I just wonder if the nation of voters wants President Trump to continue to hack away at everything in the government, or are they ready for Democrats to smooth things out?

Yep. The establishment Democrats are panicking. They see clowns (Socialists) to the left of them and jokers (Trumpers) to the right, and their best hope for a moderate is now Buttigieg. They trashed Biden's chances by making Ukraine a focal point.

That article doesn't even make mention of the threat to the DNC from the Socialist populists, which is just as large a threat to them as Trump populists.

They still haven't figured out why they lost in 2016. ....and I've read that Hillary is hoping for a brokered convention where they crown her Queen. Nope. Haven't learned a thing, and now they're in despair.

I wouldn't get too worked up - there were a number of Republicans who thought a black man could never be elected and that the Dems
had made a huge mistake in 2008 ... how'd that work out for them?

The point is that they have no viable candidate with whom Democrats are comfortable. No matter who they choose our of the current crop, there will be a section of their base upset enough to stay home on election day, even if "Orange Man Bad" wins reelection. Tribalism has its disadvantages. You can't make one tribe happy without angering another tribe.

More than half the voters in the country are in a populist mood, wanting to hack away at everything in the establishment government.

Race had nothing to do with Obama's election. People were war-weary with Bush's "war on terror", including enough Republicans and Libertarians who stayed home or voted 3rd party. McCain and Romney were both war hawks. Obama was promising to pull our troops out of Afghanistan. Funny how Obama then went around toppling government heads and became the Droner-in-Chief, breaking his promises of peace.

Trump has found himself mired in the same mess. ISIS is gone but the Taliban is back, He pulls out on the Kurds and has to go back in for the Saudis.

I can say this for Obama's war in Lybia - not one US soldier died - the most well executed war of all time.

Dems have no one to blame but themselves. They are like food vendors offering up rotten food that no one wants, and then wondering why the guy selling burgers and fries is taking away all their business.

Defending Obama and War-hawk Hillary toppling Gadhafi? How was Libya a threat to the U.S.?

Oh well. At least not one soldier died. To heck with some measly little deaths of an ambassador and consulate staff right? Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods might disagree with you, if only they were alive to do so.

Libya is still in a civil war thanks to Obama/Clinton stirring the pot and then leaving them to figure the rest of "democracy" out for themselves.

Most well-executed war of all time...

I'm somewhat at a crossroads about Trump. If he continues to hack away at the government, and let's imagine the case where Trump wins a second term, then he's going to go after Social Security. What do you think about that?

The House holds the purse strings. Trump will submit a budget each year, but it's the House who has to authorize how much money and which programs get appropriations. Representatives in the House will be there a lot longer than 4 more years. They won't cut Soc Sec and risk their political futures. It's political suicide for both parties.

The reason the government spent more this year was because Pelosi refused to pass any budget that wasn't more "spendy". Trump submitted a budget which reflected cuts in spending.

Nothing says SUCCESS like open air slave markets.

Nothing says "most well-executed war" like leaving a country which, 9 years later, is run by militias and is currently having Turkey deploy extremists to add icing to Obama/Hillary's victory cake!

The thing is that the average Dem Party voter knows that their leadership is endlessly fumbling the political ballgame against Trump while fronting a slate of absolute political clown candidates as their proposed saviors. Despair is inevitable.

All Democrats need to do drop the radical socialist agenda and they'd be unbeatable.

Might as well tell them to cut out their hearts. The commie crap has become a vital organ of the party.

Yes, but then again they would no longer be what their long term political and ideological devolution has destined for them to become. This ultimate move to the far left was predicted by political scientists as far back as the 1960s as an inevitable result of what the radicals of the day believed in and were pushing for. Not the 'no more war' stuff, but the Castro is great stuff.

The Soviets once claimed that they would 'take' the United States without ever firing a shot; and in that we see how they were correct in what the Dem Party is becoming before this nation's very eyes. Ironic that the Evil Empire itself went belly up.

Trump is an antidote to the leftist poison that has become the Democrat Party in this country.
