    Or is it only a rumor? The State Dept. says they all hit their target, but it's probably a lie ...since we know they are prone to lies.

    Supposedly, Russian electronic warfare systems jammed the guidance systems of the 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles the US launched at Syria on 6th April 2017. With this strike and the heightened international tension, the Kremlin decided to send the US a reminder of what they have. It's an unusual amount of information about their highly secret Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. Here are a few of them:

    Rychag-AV is capable of fully ‘blinding” the enemy within a radius of several hundred kilometers and suppressing several targets at a time. The helicopter’s jamming deprives enemy air defense missile systems and airborne interceptors of the possibility to detect any targets and guide air-to-air, surface-to-air and air-to-surface missiles towards them while the survivability and the combat efficiency of friendly aircraft increase considerably.

    Khibiny – carried by SU-24 and SU-30 fighter bombers and operational since 2013. This was the system which was used to jam the radar systems of the US navy destroyer Donald Cooke in a notorious incident which took place during the peak of the Crimean crisis in 2014.

    The data appearing on the warship’s radars put the crew at a loss: the aircraft would now and then disappear from radar screens or suddenly change its location and speed or create electronic clones of additional targets while the destroyer’s information and weaponry control combat systems were actually disabled.

    Gimalai – a more advanced version of the Khibiny system being developed for the new SU T50 fifth generation fighter.

    Krasukha-S4 – this is the system which is known to have been deployed to Syria. It is designed to provide protection for command posts, force groupings, air defense means, important industrial facilities from aerial radar reconnaissance and precision weapons. The system’s broadband active jamming station is capable of effectively fighting all modern radars used by various aircraft, and also cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

    Krasukha-20 – this is a system specifically designed to jam US AWACS aircraft.

    Moskva-1 – This system suggests that it is intended as a back-up for the radar systems used by Russian surface to air anti-aircraft systems such as the S-400. It entered service last year and from TASS’s description seems to be very advanced

    The system is designed for radar reconnaissance (passive radiolocation), interaction and information exchange with command posts of air defense missile troops and radio-technical forces, air direction centers, the provision of target acquisition data and control of jamming units and individual electronic suppression means.

    It comprises an intelligence module and a post of control of jamming units (stations). The system can:

    • conduct electromagnetic intelligence at a distance of up to 400 km;
    • classify all radio emitting means by the degree of their danger;
    • provide en-route support;
    • assign targets and reflect all information;
    • ensure feedback control of the operational efficiency of EW units and individual means it manages.
    The Moskva systems debuted in joint tactical drills of air defense forces and aircraft in the Astrakhan Region in south Russia in March 2016.

    Wouldn't it be nice if they issued such a piece of defence equipment to civilians.

    Of course I do and so does The Duran as do many of the credible sites I trust, since they're more in agreement with what the Russians say, than with the: "we have no proof but just trust us" hypocrites in Washington.

    I think it was very nice of the Russians to release this information, and not have the American sailors suffer the humiliation of knowing they missed their target.

    Also it might make Washington and NATO hesitate in their support of genocidal animals like ISIS, Al Nusra, and the Ukrainian Nazis.

    I question the relevance of that . Intelligence is universal.

    You would think Putin would have put that out yet I don't believe he did.

    Second, our missiles are directed to targets using our satellites. I doubt Russia has means to disrupt them.
    Most important of all is we saw photos of damage.

    We admitted we did not aim at the runways. I posted a hanger with destroyed jets inside of it.

    If that is the best the Russians can do, we are in good hands.

    Hocking the Russian narrative is not a sign of intelligence.

    I am an American born and bred in a nation which once upheld Christian virtues and values... such as honesty, generosity, and a genuine concern for humanity. It's been now replaced with lies, hypocrisy, greed, deceit, calumny, crassness and everything I have been raised to despise. Now we are the worse of the worse.

    Where we once were the hope of the world, we have turned into its curse. ..and we're not going to survive because of it.

    The Ruskies are capable of blinding American GPS, radars and even communication like cell phones.

    But any Russians under the dome would also be blinded.

    If there was a Russian Krasukha in the area we would have known because they have to be out in the open to be used.

    It was stated from the start that many missiles didn't reach their target, and I'm sure that's true. As for Russia having shot them down, that has not been confirmed. If they did, it's not something they want known ...or at least not yet, so it's only a rumor.

    As for Russia's electronic warfare, I came across that two years ago by an anonymous Russian officer in regard to Ukraine... which might be the real reason their capabilities are being mentioned now. Poroshenko is preparing for an attack on the Donbass with references to genocide of the Russian population. Russia does not want to be dragged into a war... so it might give Kiev cause to reflect.

    My military assessment is that if any hit the target, Russia has a less than perfect system.

    During WW2, the bombers often totally missed the targets.

    Smart weapons make use of satellites. Did you notice the bombers Russia uses off the coast of Alaska?

    4 prop engines. No jets. Do you seriously believe their electronics is very good?

    Even Russian jet fighters are said to have inferior electronics in them.

    Russia doesn't have a money making machine, and prefers to be debt free, so it makes sure every penny spent on the military is put to good use. That means they refurbish old planes instead of feeding a military industrial complex.

    I read the difference between Russian arms and American ones is that ours are designed by engineers, and theirs by Generals and officers who know exactly what is needed for combat. Do not underestimate them. They have proven their worth in Syria.

    Maybe. Likely.

    As a responsible citizen I am going to say - absolutely, whatever the result - it was not affected by any RF tech in any way.
