    I think the more a person releases himself from all passions and pride, and the purer their heart becomes, the closer they become to God in this life and in the afterlife. As a Christian though I know that it's almost impossible without the help of God's Grace and that requires prayers and repentance.

    The three major thrones in heaven are described after the 2:08:00 mark in this lecture by a near death experiencer who was shown the highest haven.

    His description of the River of Life coming down from the throne and then up in Christians is really intriguing!
