Disproving what the left thinks of the right

In an earlier thread I set myself up as an example of how you can start out in life with virtually nothing and make your way in life. Those on the left didnt like that because it involved personal responsibility and work.

How about now that I am retired and am 79 years old. As a conservative the left would have you believe I am destroying the world by using more than my share of the worlds goods. How ever let me point out how I live. Since I worked for the same company 47 years with good pay, I get retirement pay that is added to both my SS and that of my wife. We live in the middle of the middle class. We sold our big 4 bedroom house where we raised our 3 sons, and moved into a modest 1200 foot two bedroom townhome. We have one vehicle, a four cylinder, and one smart phone. All of our appliances are energy conservative, and all the lights are low use bulbs.

Contrast that to celebrities that the left thinks are so wonderful that live in a ten bedroom house with 5 gas guzzling sports cars and a private jet.

So the question is--------------------who is doing more damage to the enviroment me or the celebrity? In my case anyway it would indicate that the lefts view of conservatives is dead wrong.

Who cares? You gain from an utterly crappy system that kills vast numbers of people everywhere to keep you mugs brainwashed, obviously. Everybody knows that anyway. You are getting old enough to grow up.

 

No I'm asking you a question. When you've made a thread claiming the first slave owner in the United States was a guy who lived more than a century before the United States existed, when you've made a thread claiming traffic deaths went up more than 100% in Washington since they legalized pot when they've actually gone down, when you've made a thread claiming Margaret Sanger said things that she blatantly did not, why should anyone believe your story to be true?

 

I grew up and am no longer a liberal. Have you grown up?

Those guys you just looked at think you're a leech.

You are on Social Security and Medicare. Sucking the nation dry in two of the largest welfare programs.
You are a leech on your former employer. Yeah, your pension is at least partly funded by that former employer and you are now a taker.

How's it feel leech?

Now me, as a "leftist"...
I believe you earned that pension and I will do everything I can to protect that pension even if it means taking that former employer and turning it over to its retirees.
I believe you've earned your social security and medicare and I'll do everything I can to protect them from those, like you, who would see them destroyed.

Looks like you made one mistake- you are endorsing personal responsibility, when every good leftist knows that society and the right is the only thing keeping them from being rich.

It sounds like you have managed your life choices well, both personally and financially. But I know that this would have included many challenges, times when you wondered if you could hold things together. Doing so- each time, your confidence in yourself grows stronger, your respect for yourself increases.

People who lack what you have (on the personal basis) literally do not understand the value of theses things- how they enhance yo0ur power over your own life and your happiness in general. I feel sorry for them, but I will not enable them to continue that course at the expense of others- that would be the worst thing that could happen to them. Sadly it is probably how they grew up, which is why they don't understand who you are or why. I do.

I was never a liberal - I grew up young. Where I lived we were too intelligent to be conservatives, obviously - they used to lose their deposits at every election.

Why should you believe it's not? Is the test of any statement's legitimacy one of it's agreeing with you?

That is the attitude that absolutely insures you will never learn anything new- and never resolve what you consider to be the injustice you suffer. .

 

Now that statement qualfies as a plural oxymoron.

 

The author of this thread has made numerous threads recently based on claims proven within a handful of posts to be false. It remains that the OP will not own up to those false claims.

That has a direct effect on the credibility of this thread.

Or you could go to each of those threads and admit that your OP's were falsehoods and own up to the bad information you based them on. That would do a lot to repair your reputation and show that you actually do have intellectual integrity.

 

First I dont go to conservative meetings, and how can you call me the tens of millions that have paid into SS and Medicare "leeches"? Unlike perfectly healthy people on welfare that have never worked a day in their life we paid for what we are getting.

 

I haven't researched his history- or yours. I'm 75, and I can say his claims sound totally appropriate for the person he says he is.
Maybe I missed something in the post, but in a double check, I don't see a thing to that looks in any way worth questioning.
If I were going to make wild claims, I wouldn't write a milk-toast post.

Life can take many paths, some of them pretty complicated. I doubt you would believe my story either, it's far more varied and intense than his.

Unfortunately, people tend to believe what they want to believe, and often discredit the person in order to discredit the message. That is becoming far too common today.

 

As far a being a "leech" on my former employer, when I was hired, they gave me a benefits book that I still have that was an agreement that among other things I would get retirement pay if I agreed to come to work for them. It was in effect a contract between the company and me, that they are fulfilling.

 

But----------------------that so called white privilege that is bandied about amounted to personal responsibility and the willingness to work hard.

Tell us again how pot caused vehicular deaths in Washington to go up by more than 100%. That is where your credibility is at right now.
