My people didn't even get here from Germany until a little over a hundred years ago, so the Canadians don't owe me an apology, for anything.

All this crap about holding people responsible for things done long ago in history before they were even born is pure CRAP. If it were valid, I'd be raising hell that present-day Italians need to kiss my ass and maybe pay me reparations for what the ancient Roman Empire did by invading my ancestors' German homeland and taking them as slaves back to Rome.

Actually........ the fact that 4.3 TRILLION USA Petro - Dollars could flood the markets at any time.......
will have so many well informed Americans and Canadians worried that...........

.... one of the best possible responses to that potential crisis is for Canadians to get together and borrow all 4.3 Trillion Dollars........
initiate a true Unified Field Theory of Modern World Problems........
and delay the timing on when those trillions eventually make it back to the USA?!

We really don't want the Canadian dollar to go to par with the USA dollar but........
that possibility seems to be a lot less scary than to see civil unrest in the USA go to an all time high........ since the 1930's anyway.........

Thanks for the interesting information about banking and monetary policies and Ben Franklin's opinion. As for the rest, no, Canada doesn't owe us any apologies, Britain doesn't owe us any apologies, and we don't owe anyone any apologies. Take responsibility for your own mistakes and leave the mistakes of others to them. Canada has actually served as a "release valve" for American malcontents for more than two centuries now. Many British loyalists moved to Canada as a result of the American Revolution, populating what had been a very sparsely populated area. And I don't need to tell you about the Vietnam war draft dodgers who fled to Canada.

p.s. The dollar is a floating currency, it cannot be "devalued" in the same way as currencies that are controlled or tied to some other type of money by a government. It can fall in value relative to other currencies, but that would not be a "devaluation".

You could be correct and as you may have noticed I do make an effort to
cover subjects from more than one angle.

This idea is especially relevant... now that Warren Buffet is cooperating with George Soros......

Is the US collapses, that $55B will just be expensive and rough toilet paper. He'd be better off spending a single million on a warehouse and stocking it on shotguns, ammo, canned goods and, of course, toilet paper. :)

Although that particular link isn't dated, other similar links date it to January 2017. The article below from 2014 gives an explanation of why Buffett sets that cash aside: https://www.aol.com/article/finance...e-hathaway-55billion-cash-stockpile/20946602/

Thank you immensely for that link.........
it seemed to me that the only ethical thing for me to do was pass it on to that other thread that I have going on this idea.

Whole libraries have been written on this subject ... and it has been arguing about it since the Civil War itself.

Conclusion: Slavery itself was the point of contention on which a general dispute arose ... regarding the rights and powers of a single state within the Union towards the central government in Washington.
In essence, it was not about abolishing slavery in the states where it was, but about:
    a) how far can new states decide themselves to allow slavery or not
    b) The issue of escaped slaves, means they must be arrested and returned to non-slave states or not (because property theft according to the South).

If you were there, or if you helped burn Washington DC during the war of 1812, maybe you should? LOL. But one of my ancestors fought for the Brits in 1812, settled in Canada, and later moved to Wisconsin. Another was on our side during the revolution and received a land grant in Pittsburgh for his service. Or maybe just to get him the hell off the East Coast where civilized people lived. Those damn Scots-Irish. So my answer is "no." I don't even think people from the South should apologize for slavery. A few old men could apologize for segregation, but nobody alive owned a slave and no slave who suffered is around to hear an apology. Needless to say I chose option 4 in your poll.

We have been using Netflix and Youtube so much... that I had to Google her:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samantha_Bee

I am really, really, really and truly sorry that many Canadians have this third rock confused with some other planet in the universe / Multiverse.........
From what I am reading of her here she is arguably as illogical as P. M. Trudeau's most trusted political advisor........
    Mr. Gerald Butts.......

Trudeau’s top advisor says those who laughed at “peoplekind” comment are Nazis

    On the plus side..........
some of the most liberal Canadians .... could play a significant role in assisting President Trump and his team to virtually wipe out the Dems in the 2018 by elections.....

Could P. M. Justin Trudeau manage to destroy the USA Democratic Party for 2018?

Hey Dennis Tate not only do you owe me an apology but I feel you Canadians also owe me monetary compensation. If you will private message me we can work out the details on you getting me a check.

Someone has to pay for Free College and Medicare for All. If it's going to be me I will be needing the money.

Keep in mind that there were many in what became America that felt the same way about the revolutionaries.

There are seven hundred and ten trillion dollars in the worldwide Derivatives Market as of 2014

CIA economist Jim Rickards did a brilliant video a few years ago about why we should be worried about
a one hundred trillion dollar devaluation of that market.

I wrote the following on May 3, 2018 and some brilliant people on this forum have mentored me on some
extremely relevant information since back then:

    P. M. Netanyahu, President Trump has a 4.3 trillion dollar problem....

Here is one of the best possible solutions that I come come up with off the top of my head:

Could a real estate boom plus better Fed policy pay off USA national debt?

No. You do not owe an apology for something that people that have been dead for hundreds of years did or did not do. It's a nice sentiment, but completely unnecessary, and not needed.
