    Short and sweet.

I can't imagine any parent would seriously answer "yes", but if there are any here, I would love to hear what your reasoning is.

My reasoning is: Trump obviously has narcissistic personality disorder*. A lot of people snigger about "narcissism" without knowing it's an actual serious disorder. A close family member of mine has that. It's a nightmare. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

*Narcissistic personality disorder — one of several types of personality disorders — is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

A narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school or financial affairs. People with narcissistic personality disorder may be generally unhappy and disappointed when they're not given the special favors or admiration they believe they deserve. They may find their relationships unfulfilling, and others may not enjoy being around them.

I'm willing to bet there's a large chunk of his supporters who didn't like him as a person before they sold out their values and morals to vote for him. It's funny watching some of those people going on and on about the same negative qualities in his opponents that they overlook or even love in him. You can find some of them right here on this forum.

Narcissists are incapable of having meaningful relationships. Everything is transactional with them. So yeah, you can have the money, the trophy wife, but if all your relationships suck, material success won't do you any good. You'll just be a miserable rich person instead of a miserable poor person.

Also: have you ever heard Trump talk/tweet about his grandkids? They might as well not exist. He doesn't even talk about Barron. He called him "Melania's son". What kind of parent does that? That's what you do when you're ashamed of someone.

I voted yes. I want my kids to be happy, and Trump seems pretty happy. I don't like everything he's done, but I don't expect I'll like everything my kids do either. But if they do it and it leads them to happiness, I can't ask for more than that.

Perhaps they didn't vote for the "personality"? Just maybe they voted to stop the "fundamental change of America"?

I don't know about Trump, or your skill in remote-diagnosing, but you did perfectly describe leftists.

If you mean as successful as Trump, sure. Why not?

Nope. But if you asked if I wanted my kids to be like a habitual lying, anti-American whack job like Obama I would vote no also.

There are 7.8 billion people on this planet, and it has gotten to be a real 'dog-eat-dog' kind of world. Thus, I would want to instill in children a very robust, healthy proclivity for SURVIVAL and SUCCESS, with a pronounced desire to avoid getting stuck down in the sh*t at the bottom of society.

Competition for EVERYTHING will be come more and more intense -- especially after the next series of economic disruption, which I anticipate will be very devastating, and very ugly. The strong survive, and the weak get to suck the dregs. Nothing new about that, but it will be even WORSE because as the population increases everywhere, the competition will also increase in the inevitable commensurate way....

Trump? No, he's not a 'sweetheart' -- he's a FIGHTER, and a WINNER, but he's frequently obtuse, demeaning, and uncouth! Maybe a 'flip-side' question would be, "Would you want your child to be somebody like Obama, or Jimmuh Cawduh"...?

Best role model for a child growing up in the 21st-century? Probably VLADIMIR PUTIN... think about it....

Well, his opponent wasn't exactly George Washington. Lots of people held their noses and voted against Clinton, no, not including me.

Yes, good post. But it's a terrible poll. As a parent? I wouldn't want my child to be "like" anyone.

Fair point. Hillary Clinton wasn't any better than Trump. That last election was like standing in front of two toilet bowls and deciding which one you're going to scoop a turd out of with your bare hands.
