Are you talking abut the Cherokee Nation in Georgia and NC? Its was all small farms, farmhouses with wells, barns, corn cribs, smoke houses and such before the Great Removal. They also had schools, written language and government.

 

Native Americans were invaders themselves. Nomadic tribes wandered the Continent and made war on other tribes. Your revisionist viewpoint is a reflection of the "Hate America Diatribe". Read actual accounts....study history for real. Native Americans now live in peace on a relatively peaceful Continent (aside from what goes on in Democrat run Chicago). This all happened as a result of the "European invasion."

 

What you fail to realize, Margot, is that American Indians are real people. Like Europeans.....some good, many bad. Don't try to demean one race to make another morally lofty and superior. When you do that, you fall into the "Hate America Diatribe".

That would equal taxpayers of today, who had nothing to do with the actions in question, giving money to relatives of the affected, people who weren't even alive and didn't live through the actions in question.

It's people who had nothing to do with it and weren't alive when it happened paying money to people who didn't go through it and weren't alive when it happened.

I never said you demeaned Native Americans. You demean Europeans that settled here. You act as though it was an atrocity they even came here. You call them "invaders". I wish I could have voted twice. I voted that every group has wronged others in the past, BUT, this 'reparations' scam actually IS a "cracker tax". Democrats would use it to pander for Black votes. And, to their discredit, many Blacks would love it, even though it puts them right back in a Democrat 'plantation'. The only thing missing would be the chains.

I was the same, did not vote due to no option fitting, but I would have voted no, I think the actual slaves should have got reparations at the time, but there are no living slaves alive today

how about we give reparations to all Americans related to a person that risked their lives to free slaves and all related to a slave - thus give every American a 5k stimulus

black people are Americans too and just as responsible as white people for the actions of our past - we are all Americans equally

Any fair minded person should agree that those directly effected should get reparations. Descendants are not entitled to a dime.

 

Well in the case of Japanese internment their physical property was taken. Many of them owned farms and stores that were taken without due process. As you also mentioned some of them were still alive.
Not so with slaves or Native Americans.

That said I'd like to axe the ethanol tax credit and take some of that money and do work on some of the reservations , pine ridge in particular.

Don’t include me in your ‘We’; I have never given my oath of allegiance...never will. The Brits don’t consider the Irish British... they have lots of other words us, even for those Loyalists in the North. And, they certainly frequently expressed such when I was a guest in one of the hotels they had set up to accommodate our like. Ah... as is said... Tiocfaidh ár lá .

 

We Brits are Irish. And English and Scottish and Welsh and Manx and everything else. I have never encountered the attitude you're talking about in my life, possibly you suffer from the Irish Nationalist delusion. Yes there's other words for us, it's called Unionists.
