What do you do for fun outside of this forum? Me? I hike a lot. Been hiking mountains in the Adirondacks, lower NY, New Hampshire, Vermont. I bike around NYC, go to bars. In 2 weeks doing a 50 mile ride up NJ into NY, Love ice skating, cant way till it gets colder. once every 6 months or so I go shooting.
Of course -- playing Runescape, arguing on several other forums in English and Russian, and following Twitter flame wars. No offline life.
I don't like to leave my room. I play video games when I'm done with homework. When I have to go to work its scary because the sunlight frightens me. I have no lamps in my room.
Impressive bike riding. Kudos to you. I just bought a bike but I think the tires are too big and it creates a lot of drag. However, it should help me build some extra muscle. I love cooking. I spend a lot of time on the grill and on the skillet.
Blacksmithing....... (no, not horse shoeing), target shooting, caring for adopted/rescued animals etc. I used to race bicycles, (200+ miles in 9 hours) box, wrestle, play football & have wrecked 4 motorcycles etc but subsequent wounds, injuries & joint replacements prohibit more of the same. I started blacksmithing as a hobby & it eventually became my full time job to design & make custom wrought iron gates, fountains, bell towers, furniture, wine racks, door knockers, African animals, andirons, fireplace tools, balcony supports, kitchen pot racks, ornamental window bars and more. Additionally, museum curators etc required precise reproductions of numerous Elizabethan artifacts, reproduction Civil War cannon parts & Combat Engineer tools, harpoon heads, surgical instruments etc. Next month, another blacksmith is going to work with me to make large wrought iron gargoyle heads. Why blacksmithing? Because I like my women to be like my work: Hot, Dirty & Dangerous.
Off Road bikes need larger tires for rougher terrain as you know. What's most important is proper saddle height especially on the road. If you're riding any distance, try slightly changing the saddle height every 40 miles or so to use different parts of the same muscle group & reduce knee stress. Most people position their saddle too low which is especially rough on your knees. Be careful & good luck.
My work is actually fun. Got a truck, camper, and boat, and I use them. Play guitar. Got kids and grandchildren. A lot to do besides PF and computer stuff.
Thank you. What are your thoughts on Ebikes? I'm thinking of buy one as a means of transportation for work next year
It used to be Drum and Bass (and the dj/promoter lifestyle that came with it). Now its my girls (wife and 2 daughters), and Paintball. Lots and lots of paintball. My wedding party got together and bought me a marker and now i'm hooked. https://www.paintball-online.com/v/vspfiles/photos/GNTPTMC-2.jpg
I used to play paintball! I worked every summer during high school on this large Angus farm. In return, I got to stay with a group of folks in a farm house about a mile from the owner's house. On the days off, we would play paintball. I think I had a Tipman custom (forget if I have the name correct). I spent two summers modifying it and I had this awesome barrel that would put wicked backspin on the paintball. I went from being the guy who was shot first each game to the last man standing. Good times
Nice. I need to upgrade my barrel and get a scope or a better sight on mine. I'm focusing on getting gear right now (new boots to go with the new fatigues, new gloves, a new mask/helmet) for next season as this one is winding down. also i've lost like 50 pounds and i'm pretty sure 30 of them since paintball (you sweat like a pig running around with all that gear lol)
I juggle. Tomorrow I am going to a 9 day long juggling convention in Oxford. I also enjoy building trebuchets and visiting castles.
heh that is the right term, and generally not. it's a much different (and much more costly) style of game. Seriously, we walk by those courses and all we here is money just flowing (65-80 bucks for a case of 2K balls) I prefer woodsball, more military style sneaking and such.
