I'd love it if it could be done without bloodshed. As I don't think it can be done without bloodshed, I prefer what I think is on the way to happening. Rights are being given back to the states and I think people will freely move to those states where the culture is most to their liking. Example of why I think this is vital: https://www.bitchute.com/video/WHSmroG7GN8/ There are two very different types of people and they may never really get along together.
That does not accomplish the same thing at all..I believe in a strong federal govt - with a right to disolve the relationship. I want a new vibrant union of blue states, with a new federal constituion that will make blue goals come true every Western American. I don't want little Oregon stuck on the mountain with the international and red state wolves circling to devour. I want an Western American based army, navy airforce, a strong taxbase and economy, our own NASA hoping to reach Mars some day. Dream the same big New Deal.. Great Society, and New Dawn dreams.
That sounds like you want a cat that barks. The strong federal government of which you write is not going to just let states go their own way.
you missed the part where the constitution gets rewritten. I've got that one covered and the same states that just went to all the trouble of leaving a union that had changed to make their lives impossible, are not about to vote to ratify a document that does not guarrentee that same right again in 20 years if this goes belly up.
The funny thing is, the trump wing has already rejected the US flag for a defaced flag, which is actually a crime. They have literally declared this to be another country by assuming a new flag. This was all about asserting authoritarian control. Honoring a fake flag is declaring yourself to be un-American. So if you don't care about America anyway, why not support the right of secession? But then wanting to fly an authoritarian flag pretty much answers that question, doesn't it.
Not morally. Had the South won, it wouldn't have said anything about the morality of secession or slavery, just that both could happen. Might doesn't make right, but it does determine who makes the decision. Maybe sometime I'll explore why it was so important to Lincoln to stop the South from leaving. It wasn't about slavery to Lincoln. I feel like his decision on that has led to a lot of problems, but who knows what other problems would have happened had they left.
The thin blue line flag is kind of the softcore fascist flag. It's their way saying "Nice country you have there, it'd be a shame if something were to happen to it because you wouldn't submit to our tyranny of the minority". The mostly black American flag that means "no quarter", that's the hardcore fascist flag. Those open traitors are advertisting that they want to kill their countrymen.
Sure. It says that the police are the "thin blue line" against total anarchy. And they only came about after the police were challenged to stop brutalizing everyone. That is, the police and their backers are threatening to not do their job and let anarchy loose unless they get absolute obedience.
Interesting, so 19 out of 35 people here believe in holding States hostage by force. That is called tyranny. Free means free to leave. So you all prefer civil war over liberty. If this country is so great, what are you worried about? Why would any State leave the greatest nation on earth?
So you think you can force people to believe this is the greatest nation on earth by passing laws? What do you expect will eventually happen if States want to break away but civil war is the only option? Are you trying to start a civil war? Your support of a criminal and an obviously corrupt SC suggests you think you can rule this country through the use of force. Is that why you support an authoritarian and a wanna-be despot? Do you want a war?
I think the logistics would be a nightmare but in principle I support the idea of states having the right to leave. My number #1 caveat would be they take their proportionate share of the debt. Consider how they are going to determine citizenship. Will it be like a stock dividend with a declaration date and everyone residing in the state at that time will be a citizen of the new country and everyone outside will remain American? Will their be a mass exodus out if people want to maintain American citizenship. How long will it take to construct border crossings and checkpoints? How long will it take to iron out treaties for the flow of people, goods and services? Who owns the military equipment and bases in the state? If California leaves do they keep all of the naval ships and aircraft? What about the nukes? Are we going to allow another country to have nukes on the US border? Can we turn around and invade them and take all of their natural resources? Think about the impact on business and the infrastructure built in that state? Will American telecom and power companies still own all of the equipment in those states? What if they no longer want to provide service to them? Can they shut down and scrap the equipment? Companies headquartered in that state that sell goods and services to the rest of America will now be considered a foreign company. They will be subject to the same types of taxes and tariffs as other foreign companies. My guess is that maybe with a few exception from some of the biggest states, the majority of states that choose to separate would become a $h!%hole country in no time. They will suffer mass exodus or people and businesses and be unable to support their share of the debt.
