Why hasn't the government officially declared BLM and Antifa terrorist organizations. The legal grounds to do so seems pretty straight forward. Title 22 Chapter 38 U.S. Code § 2656f defines terrorism as "premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents". In general, terrorism is classified as: The use of violence or of the threat of violence in the pursuit of political, religious, ideological or social objectives.
This would make it easier for the government and law enforcement to deal with these groups. Since these groups are out of control and law enforcement should be given broad authority and rules of engagement in dealing with them.

The idea of anti-fascism being terrorism is essentially admittance of a fascist society.

True but Antifa et al are just thugs under false banners. When one forces their political beliefs on others via violence they themselves are fascists.

There is no 'they'. There is no single organisation. Trump has merely pretended otherwise. The irony of trying to ban anti-fascism is beyond him mind you.

I'm not sure it's a group with a solid hierarchy that has an ideology of violence. It seems more like small cells of street thugs. If anything, they seem to act like a criminal gang, only with mayhem their goal rather than profit.

If anything they seem more like the Brownshirts.

There was no they with the Weather Underground or The Black Panther Party or any of the lesser known radical groups just a bunch of young idiots who thought that being affiliated with some cause would increase their chances to get "lucky". These affiliations were enough to get them arrested. When I was in college there was this guy who claimed to be in the Weather Underground. People used to hang out at his apartment because there was lots of booze and drugs and regular partying. I went there with some friends and while we were there the Weather guy was showing off his machine guns and hand grenades, we freaked out and left. Some time after that the apartment was raided by the FBI and Weather guy was hauled in. The next day there was a truck and lots of people hauling stuff out in paper bags with tags on them while some guy with a clip board checked them before they were loaded on the truck. The local police were there but they just stood and watched like the rest of us, FBI agents were going around and questioning people. We didn't see Weather guy after that but a private investigator came on campus questioning people, it turned out the PI was hired by Weather guy's family who said he had disappeared and were unaware that he'd been arrested. Of course all kinds of rumors swirled but sometime later there was a story in the New York Post about some people who blew themselves up while manufacturing bombs, took out their whole apartment. There were pictures of the deceased included in the article, one of them was Weather guy. I wondered if they took him out in a paper bag. If individuals are associated with a known terrorist group, even if there's no organization just a group of idiot kids, they're are still culpable and should be punished accordingly if they commit crimes in the name of some cause. All of the acts we witnessed after what happened in Minneapolis were criminal and acts of terror and certainly not justified and had nothing to do with fascism.

You're missing the point. Its Trump who is attempting to exploit the politics. He's engineered the illusion that Antifa is one homogeneous organisation. The only thing that united all those involved is antifascism. The clue, as always, is in the title.

The evidence is available to all. We know that the biggest terrorism threat in the US is from the right wing. Are there unsavoury types who could use Antifa as an excuse? Of course. However, to think you can ban Antifa- which you're effectively demanding- is certainly admission of a fascist state.

That's your opinion, homogenous or not, participating in riots under a banner clearly makes one a terrorist and as such these individuals should be rounded up, denied due process, (they willingly gave up that right)and detained indefinitely in a facility like Gitmo.

I found one positive note on the destruction of statues-

With Statues Gone, Pigeons Forced To Poop On Rioters

I think the pigeons are smarter than our politicians. Given that, the pigeons should be pooping on the politicians too. A lot.

However the BLM supporters don't need more poop. Their heads are already full of it.

A rioter is not a terrorist. To confuse the two makes no sense. For example, I have seen a riot created by police tactics (as they charged peaceful protesters with horses). How is that terrorism?

Now it is the case that the criminal justice system can easily deal with the violent and the looter. But again you are assuming that Antifa are necessarily behind these outcomes. Based on what? What Trump said in his idiotic tirades? You really should be more concerned about your government. It beggars belief that folk really think anti-fascism should be banned by a fascist state.

Again just your opinion. Your example is just that, there is literally hundreds of hours of video of rioters under the banner of Antifa. When you pursue a political agenda through intimidation and violence that is terrorism. What in your opinion makes the US a fascist state?

You are correct. Like the white supremacists, they are a very loosely organized bunch of malcontents. The best way to handle them is arrest and heavy jail time.
Federal monuments destroyed? A mandatory 10-year sentence on top of other charges.

IF that had been done in Minneapolis, it wouldn't have needed to be done elsewhere.

I agree with the equivalence to Brownshirts, or to Hitler Youth.
However there is a lot of evidence that points to a common source, far too many to consider coincidence. Like pallets of brick being stashed at certain locations which would later be the riot scenes- and the same thing happening in multiple cities. Like a connect the dots drawing, the image is there, defined by the relationship of the waypoints along the path.
People don't get stupid in the same way spontaneously, there is a motivating and directing power behind it.

What other sort of state should ban anti-fascism?

Absolutely. The idiots in the streets need to be dealt with harshly but those behind the scenes should be apprehended and summarily executed, publicly would be my choice.

Optimal sentencing creates different debate. Why, for example, have a greater sentence for attacking a monument compared to attacking a person? But heck, that's certainly an improvement on the terrorism drivel.

Good question - why hasn't the government done that?

If this had been a direct attack on people/property- they would have. But it is an attack on values, of basic human worth, with the objective of making people doubt themselves and their own ability to think for themselves. This has been going on for several generations through the colleges that went liberal, and the people trying to use ancient wrongs to punish people who have been good to them today. Most politicians have always been willing to trade their morals for votes. So we have a great deal of psychological manipulation going on- and politicians confused about what to do, because their morals are like rubber fences, moving to appease enough to keep power. When you weaken people- you weaken government. This attack has very insidious strategy behind it, and far too few people are calling it out for what it is. Most know- but they would rather be safe and let someone else do that. Rubber backbones, values, lack of identity, of self-respect, of courage. That is what the liberals have been working of for 50 years. Too many of those facsimiles of human beings have been elected to public office.

So if I understand your point, you are saying that Liberals have been very strategic and have successfully engineered this state, while the republicans have rubber backbones and lack values, identity, self respect and courage?

Attacking and defacing a Monument on government property is a Federal crime with Federal penalities.
Those attacking other persons during a street protest/riot appears to have no consequences.
Both events need judges that will not allow plea bargains.

Of course you know better than that, but you probably have a bachelor's degree in Doublespeak.
    Pitiful.

It's pretty easy to read people in this mess. Those who blame somebody else for their on actions and consequences, those who think others should support them, pay for them, subsidize them- that is the disease behind this sickness.

Those who stand on their own feet, do not take from others and think for themselves- are the people responsible for building the greatest nation in history, the one people from around the world most want to come to.
The people who will not earn success have always hated those who did. Color doesn't change that.

You're missing large swaths of people.
There are those who were raised to care for and about others.
There are those who have succeeded tremendously and now want to help others
There are those who want to see a level playing field for people to make better lives for themselves
There are TRUE Christians who live by the code of 'WWJD' - and they give/help whenever they can

Not a lot more here. You want punishment for standard crimes? Okaydokes! What do you think about having a government thinking it can ban anti-fascism?
