IMO the worst thing the Republicans can do is cannibalize themselves--Hillary and the Dems will be more than willing to do the trash talking. So what does Trump do right out of the gates? He trashes the Republicans. That does not sit well with me, and combined with him touting himself as "a truly great leader", whether true or not, demonstrates a hubris and ego that I don't like either. He came across to me as a snake-oil salesman, and is now my least favorite candidate amongst the Republicans.

Which is still part of day-to-day survival and a much much less frequent part than what guns were used for most often by regular people back then. Not allowing people to have guns would have made as much sense and been just as useless as not letting people have horses. It would have been unenforceable and 150% foolish considering how essential to life being armed was back then. The people would have laughed those statesmen right out of the building, and the Constitution would have gone the way of the Articles of Confederation. A more modern equivalent would be not letting people have cars or electricity. Those are much more essential to day-to-day life for a regular person than guns are now in this country. That's true, that's the job of the government, specifically the legislative and judicial branches. And I'm glad they do it. I support it.
If my options are a. 50 million illegal invaders, or b. 50 million newly legalized welfare consuming Democrat voters I guess I'm stuck with the infestation aren't I? How about instead option C DEPORT THEM ALL AND DEFEND THE BORDER!

I think you are underestimating the republicans in 2016, I recall you doing the same in 2014 and we all know how that turned out. Trump wont present anyone a nightmare , and its likely he will make the other candidates look SMARTER. Its really a win win for other republicans.
