I’m curious as to who owns this site. I was a member of another political forum years ago, and the owner there was like the main participant in many discussions. He ended up shutting it down because he didn’t want to spend money on it anymore. I think he had an incoming baby situation or something like that (again, many years ago). This forum is a huge contrast - I’ve never seen a single post (recent) from an admin. If the owner does not participate in discussions then why own it and spend the money?

Then wonder if it's like "Psycho" and someone is keeping the corpse at the PC aiding profits and control and whatever else diabolical escapes me now. I would nominate @Falena as the staff most likely . . .
Chat rooms have never worked before in their attempts to establish themselves over the last twenty years and that goes for game rooms.
In many ways we are quite fortunate that the owner is not "Hands On" with this place, as I have seen and experienced what can happen with an overzealous top dog. We are fortunate to have Falena at the helm instead as she seems level headed and fair. Likely the site owner is also a member and no one will ever know....that is the smart way to do this. The less you know of the details the better...Trust me on this.
Forum Chat Rooms are seldom worth the effort and usually die a slow death. I have only seen one that was successful and that was only because it had a devoted Moderator who had the time to nurture it. People try to translate the forum experience into Chat which does not work...PM is a better way to do so, or places like Smarties. The Chat room CAN work if done well but takes a lot of time and effort from someone who understands the dynamics.
You obviously have not experienced one of @Lee S more wrathful in an old Testament manner, episodes. @Lee S we're just having some fun here. @Falena is the go to person for computer problems. Oh believe me I have endured the "Wrath of Lee" and in fact left here for months to avoid getting banned for being funny. @ Falena does far more than push buttons and is in fact the individual that dealt with my being hacked here.

I never meant "push buttons" but, deal with complex computer program problems like why does a link I include to a message get scrambled to "you must log in", or some such nonsense. Still does, so I always give "road instruction" along with a "freeway" link in case the link doesn't work. Road Instructions: This forum, that thread, and #. I never meant to say @Falena was perfect. The problem still exists. Just my choice to prop up the corpse of PF at his PC "Psycho" style and . . . . and my wrathful Galadriel fantasy. Fear & BTW I had to endure the brand & shame of "Past Donor" for near a week after my reuppence. Maybe we need to donate to faster electrons now. And with all the @Falena notifications she must have received maybe, she would reply to the fantastic Chat Room discussions.
There is always the PM when needed. As for a chatroom, why not just use IRC and invite as required rather than slowing the Forum down with digital debris....easier and less intrusive.

I have no effort...just suggestions. Personally I do not see the benefit of chat. If you really want it here, it would be very simple without anything new.....I will show you shortly.
The owner of this site created this site to be used as a platform for all walks of life to discuss what is on their mind. The owner requested that if you do use this platform, please post in a respectful manner. The staff tries their best to ensure that request is honored. Since I have been here, I have never heard and have no knowledge of the owner posting here using a different user name.

On the + side although no fault admitted there does seem to be a reduction of "purge" activity by @LeeS . Maybe because moderators have removed so much spice among participants we notice such draconian behaviors less. We miss to many like @Spooky, @Renee, et al Should even a current donor status respond.
