we are avid reloaders. but nothing will stop these clowns. they probably don’t even realize reloading is possible. let’s hope they don’t find out, especially with kevin “ghost gun” de leon on the case. but seriously, they’re not going to have a problem sinply banning gunpowder.

Tax all varieties gunpowder at $1,000/gram to all but licensed ammunition and fireworks manufacturers. Then 'conveniently' put no mechanism in place to legally pay the tax. You know - the Devil's Lettuce gambit...

    Umm... sulfur, charcoal, and urine.

    You gonna outlaw that too?

not as long as you’d like us to believe. here’s a novel idea... how about instead of punishing law abiding citizens, we actually start punishing criminals. california literally just reduced criminal penalties on hundreds of crimes. so instead of punishing bad people for bad things, they want to punish good people for? nothing...

An example of the newly devised "red flag" laws. Anyone (ex wife, girlfriend, democrat neighbor, etc.) can flag an individual they feel for whatever reason, deem to be a danger to themselves or others. The police confiscate the guns and the owner has to appear in court and prove his/her innocence. You are guilty until you prove yourself innocent.

If you combine it into gunpowder and don't pay the tax? One year per gram and ten times the tax per gram as a fine. Can't do that, you say? Tell that to those serving felony time for marijuana possession or meth manufacturing. It's a tried and true practice in criminal law.

Are you suggesting that its hard to get meth or weed if you're willing to break the law?

How is this going to reduce shootings?

Two trained cops couldn't disarm a 60 year old man so instead of backing off and getting assistance they decide to shoot him. Outstanding police work!

Then surely you would not want to get into a new sport more often than once a month. Think of the positives

This will slow down the “new toy” fervour until your brain catches up with your wallet

Good luck in getting anyone to actually make gunpowder out of those ingredients

And in fact it is saltpeter, from the urine that is used and it is a major ingredient. Since it takes about ten months to make the saltpetre from urine that is a fair time as well as a lot of water under the bridge so to speak

I tend to buy guns like my brother does video games. Not long ago I bought a new .22 rifle shot it for a few days and decided I didn't really like it. I sold it and went and bought another. While I was at the gun store I saw another gun I had been interested in shooting so bought it too. If or when I tire of them I will likely sell them and buy others. Shooting is something I enjoy with family and friends. I started shooting at the age of 5 and have been shooting for more than 50 years now. I see no reason to stop unless the government takes my guns.

Well what happend was, they did a surprise raid on his home at 5:00am. He heard the door being smashed and still half asleep he grabbed a gun and went downstairs to see what was going on. From that point only the police account is available but he is dead. He had no prior warning this was about to happen. Bad law to say the least.

If you really believe that, buy a few 1#, 4# or 8# containers of powder and you will have a lifetime supply and be able to load tens of thousands of rounds. Powder sealed and kept cool and dry will last many decades. I just used a can that was nearly 50 years old with no issues at all. If it smells sour dump it on the lawn. It makes great fertilizer.

    Don't feed the trolls.

But how much inconvenience will it really be to slow that purchasing down a bit? I would have thought you would have more issue with the requirements to lock guns away

You didn't seem to have a problem with the concept until it was pointed out it could be used to bite your ass.

Valid points. Where I live there is no requirements for locking up guns. As for the inconvenience of slowing down my purchases I guess my response is - why? Why as an honest law abiding citizen am I limited on purchasing an item that is legal to own. I can buy all the cars, televisions, alcohol and tobacco I want. Why not guns?
