Dr. Ben Carson to Newsmax: We Must Rebuke 'Selective Outrage'

"People can see that there's selective outrage, selective interest," Carson told "Saturday Report." "All of these things have been happening for quite some time, particularly with the current administration. And it's not necessarily a Democrat or Republican thing. It's a politician thing.

"And what we need are people in leadership who actually have the interest of the people at heart, not the interest of their party, not their political aspirations. But what about the people? I can tell you if somebody like that were to come along, I think that people would be extraordinarily happy."

Carson, a Black neurosurgeon who served in former President Donald Trump's administration, released a book this week: "Created Equal: The Painful Past, Confusing Present, and Hopeful Future of Race in America."

"You know this guy in Buffalo, he is way off the end of the chart — you know, very much like Derek Chauvin was," Carson said of the Buffalo domestic terrorist who targeted Blacks in a mass shooting and the cop who was convicted of murdering Floyd in 2020.

"You know, this guy is in no way representative of policemen, and yet they try to make it seem like this was a everyday occurrence. And now they're trying to make it seem like — because this relatively unstable guy comes in and commit to horrendous act — that somehow you can take that and make it into a broad application for those who you disagree with."

President Joe Biden and his White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, should be uniting Americans on race, not further dividing us, which is how we got here in the first place, according to Carson…


…"I would hate to be his press secretary, let me just put it that way," Carson told host Rita Cosby. "That's got to be a very hard job to try to spin all these things, and I don't think people really listening to that."

Carson, a noted Black conservative who has been calling for school choice, denounced Democrats for using race for political means.

"It really is sad, but you can always expect the left to accuse you of what they're guilty of. That's a given," Carson said. "But you know what's really racist is keeping people dependent — and, you know, determining how people are supposed to think.

Dr. Ben Carson is exactly right. He is exactly the calm, reasonable, even tempered, respectable type of person we need in leadership in America. His ideas are correct and would make America be in progress toward a more perfect Union.

 

For the record for those didnt know me before I came here, in the 2016 GOP Presidential primaries, I was a supporter of Ben Carson through out and voted for him in the Ca. GOP primary. I had been a supporter in 2012 of Herman Cain until he withdrew from the race. Ben Carson is a great American and Presidential medal award winner

 

Why him? I’ve never heard an original thought come out of his mouth. He regurgitates standard gop talking points and positions, and he’s a pretty bad public speaker. I don’t see the draw…

No governing experience, no new ideas and no charisma. Is it just because he’s black?

 

I thought that I explained all that in the intro I wrote.

 

His ideas are good ones and he’s learned from the last campaign.

He has governing experience now. He has lots of good ideas. I’ve seen the movie about him and read a couple of his books. His reasoned approach and calm even temperament offset the lack of charisma. That you’d ask me a conservative near senior citizen White guy if I supported him or Cain because they are black is sheer irony. Dr. Carson’s religious beliefs are compatible with my thinking on such matters. I supported Ted Cruz in 2016 after Carson dropped out to the bitter end.

 

What ideas does his have that every other republican doesn’t?

 

He shined Trumps knob. That's good enough for the modern rightist these days.

 

Carson has zero experience running a bureaucracy, building coalitions in Congress, experience with the military, no foreign relations experience ... a perfect
Republican candidate.

We really need a viable third party in this country, cause the "stars" in the current parties are worthless.

To be honest we don't know FOR SURE what the Pyramids were used for. That long ago a lot of what we think is settled record turns out ot be just old legends written down sometimes centuries and even millenia after it was supposed to have happened and even then they about as much concern for historical accuracy as anyone does who is writing down accounts of the King's noble life while the King's headsman watches. Remember Napoleon said that "history is a lie, agreed upon"

OTOH it's also rather clearly evident that this guy never cracked a book that was on any other subject but surgery and how he got even close to a Medical School let along graduating from one is beyond me.

I have been inside the pyramids in Giza and Saqqara and they were definitely not designed for storing grain.
I have been to the pyramids in Teotihuacan and the Yucatán and they don’t even have interiors.
The first verse of the Tao says that the way that can be expressed is not the eternal way, but that doesn’t mean that you have to give credence to obvious bullshit.

 

I agree with the sentiment of Dr Carson. Selective outrage on either side is not good for this country.

 

I was just pointing out that we don't know everything we seem to think we do about the very ancient world and yeh, the question of WHERE would they be storing it did occur to me.

Do the Pyramids really stink to high heaven? I've had someone tell me that they are intolerable on the inside.

In 1977, I was staying in Cairo and I had a chance to explore the Giza and Saqqara pyramids quite well. I was able to climb to the top of the Cheops pyramid and wasn't hassled. I was able to sit alone in the king's chamber for 30 minutes and no other tourists would show up. There were few tourists and few guards back then.
The main pyramid has a tall narrow grand gallery leading to the king's chamber and a cramped lower passageway leading to a small queen's chamber. Nothing else, although they say that modern imaging is revealing some curious voids in another part of the Cheops pyramid.
The interior is very plain and has no markings. The king's chamber is a plain cube about 20 feet square with walls floors and ceiling made of stone. There is just a plain stone sarcophagus in the chamber and a couple of air vents.
My friend and I wanted to hide out in the Cheops pyramid overnight because she was curious about pyramid power, so we crawled into a tiny grotto off of the queen's chamber and waited in the dark for the guards to lock the entrance and leave for the night.
Then we would go back to the king's chamber and hang out. That was the plan, but about 10 minutes after closing time, we saw a dim light approach in the tunnel and a little old man holding a candle appeared and laughed at us and threw us out.
At that time, the Cheops pyramid smelled like cold stone.
I went back about 10 years later and there was a long line of tourists snaking their way out of the entrance to the Cheops pyramid.
The inside spaces are pretty much narrow single file passages, so you can imagine what the inside of the place must have looked like. I doubt anyone would have the space to piss unseen in a line of tourists walking through the pyramid.
I didn't go in that time, and it was also impossible to climb to the top then.
It's become like Mount Everest now, with a long line of tourists snaking their way up the mountain. Tourists are like the plague, I must admit.
