Regarding the gun situation, the secret service was involved trying to locate it. If they were involved then you know the Big Guy knew about it, that means the big guy helped cover up a crime.

It does not constitute a fallacy because I never made a universal claim about all Republicans in the first place. I think my implied claim is that this is the sort of thing Democrats would be more likely to do than Republicans.
Unfortunately for you, a counterexample is not as much evidence against my claim as it would be if my claim was about all Republicans in general.
