This has been a concern for many years, but I wonder if we are seeing the affects of pollutants, including drugs, in the water of densely populated areas.

If sewage treatment plants are not equipped to eliminate all pollutants and poisons, I wonder how vulnerable we are to adverse affects on populations, especially babies and children.

It is the agricultural use of antibiotics that is of most concern because we are fighting a losing battle with antibiotic resistance

The FDA is cracking down on the use of antibiotics in livestock feed and over the counter availability of certain antibiotics. Many drugs that could be bought before this year now require a vets prescription. I think it is about time. My animals get worm treatment... but even they have to be rotated to lessen the chance of resistance. I have been against giving antibiotics to healthy animals for years now. I even bought my own microscope to do my own fecal testing for worms.

Those are the kinds of things the EPA needs to be refocused on.

They should test the well water at the owner's expense. Then the laboratory report would tell if the well is contaminated or not. If it is it's time for a new well in a different spot.

It is not just about antibiotics and herbicides.
It is also about psychiatric medicines such as Prozac, heart medicines, etc.

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

A serious thanks to you for your diligence and responsibility.

However, the future of regulation policing and enforcement under this administration can not be anywhere close to assured.

The result is that irresponsibility is rewarded with higher profit.

So, we're going to hand those out to every house in Flint?

Or, are we happy with damaging the brains of thousands of kids, followed by whining about required social safety net costs and how those communities aren't being as productive as they could be?

No, I suspect the weak minded will keep expecting the government to come save them, just like in your response.

The catch here is that we've (corporations, agriculture, pipe materials, etc., etc.) managed to create toxics that the average person can not detect.

Then, it gets fed to those who didn't realize someone had changed the system in a way that poisons them.

Your water supply will come under corporate control, just like your food supply has. That's where the world is headed. Nestle, Coca-Cola and others have made moves on buying up South American aquifers already.

We used to be the govt. But yeah, since we handed it off to the Wall Street/donor/"job creator" class, no one expects the power structure to do anything at all for citizens. Access to safe water to drink is a privilege to be earned by selling yourself to a "job creator".
