People vote for representatives who answer to the Wall Street/donor/"job creator" class aristocracy who "manage" the nation to their own benefit and the detriment of society at large. The voters get rigged primaries, voter suppression, outlandish electoral outcome manipulating gerrymandering, dark money operated and run corrupt faux elections of illusion, and a long, long spate of legislation against majority opinion. You are correct that this issue has never been a lone individual and of course no one has asserted that. The issue is the entire system and at this point, I'm afraid too many of us have awoken to that fact. Your repetitive regurgitation of mythology may not ultimately carry the day, but do go on, It would appear you need the illusion.
