For $60K, you can tool a truck and immediately start earning $100K. By the time you finish your apprenticeship, you should have been able to save up $60K rather than spend it on a college degree.

    DEBT IS DUMB

The average American spends 40% of their lifetime income on interest.
I've made more, much, much more money on interest that I've ever paid.

I have no quarrel with your grammar, but I have a different attitude. I try to make my posts clear and crisp. I take pride in my writing and it is just a fact of life that people will respond better to polished writing than to slovenly writing, just as they respond better to well dressed people than they do to slovenly people.

If ideas are worth listening to, they are worth the extra effort to express them neatly and clearly.

There are brilliant people in all forms..
    Educated uneducated self educated.
I think what sets the great ones apart is their willingness to work hard which though can be learned as i have. Is best taught as a skill while young.

We are not writing thesis here, if we were we would use the kings English and not American slang

People post on computers, people post on cell phones, this place is about figuring out ideas and concepts, commenting on new and politics not a spelling or grammar Bee

    No, it's not.

If you learn how to do something, a skill, for example, i snot anecdotal because yo can apply the learned skill again and again. An opinion about someone---e.g. an educated ignoramus---cannot be applied over and over again to other people similarly situated.

This is why you try to gather data on people to see if there are correlations with what ever you're trying to study.

Well, duh. I was referring to the fact that studies are more valid than anecdotal observations.

I have a study which shows that these less educated republicans were better informed on current events than democrats or independents. What study shows that well educated people are more apt to make correct decisions?

Don't you find that clear and unambiguous writing helps when "commenting on new and politics?" I do. Sometimes posts are so garbled I can't figure them out at all.

There is no other way to judge the work of a mind except through its words.

A degree is not a product of intelligence (in anyone within normal limits), it's a product of hard work, self-discipline, and application.

Because he/she choose a completely useless degree, at enormous expense.

The vanity, hubris, and selfishness that goes into choosing something you know won't feed a family - and may very well make you a burden on others - is off the charts in some people.

No it won't. Have you never met a PhD who can't pay the rent? Or who is an alcoholic? Or thrice married? Etc etc. Stupid as rocks, some of them.

OTOH, we've all met plenty of very smart uneducated people. People who don't become alcoholics, or mismanage their finances, or fail at marriage, etc etc.

Being self educated yields optimum education. An education should involve more than learning a marketable skill.
The greatest hindrance to education today involves the teachers ,the profs and even grad students teaching a course.

I was fortunate to have profs that did not use their position to indoctrinate the impressionable young. Except for one course. ..political science.

He recruited well but since I went to school thanks to uncle Sam via VA benefits, I was not a teen having served in the mmilitary.

One of the best educated man ever I met was self educated. Like all educated people he read more than the comics. Books. Always reading books of substance

One of the biggest idiot I ever knew had several letters after his name. 2Supposedly well educated . He didnt read as mmuch as the other fellow but what he did read was written by people who agreed with his views. He would not read authors that thought differently .

But he enjoyed the prison he created to live in. Most of these people do find comfort. But they missed getting an education. Taught what to think but not how to think.

Also you can graduate from high school these days without ever learning basic citizenship responsibilities and how your govt is supposed to work and its structure. None of such grads are educated. Half mis-educated is what they are.

But our our career rulers prefer most people not to vote. They prefer only the upper 10 percent to be involved. The same demo that finances csmpaigns in exchange for legislation that benefits their particular self interests.

Terrible measure. "Smart" can only usefully be measured in outcomes (ie, lives as lived), not in numbers. If you have made a mess of your life, then you are not smart. No one alive will argue with that, which is why it's the only worthwhile measure. It's universally understood and agreed.

You can pull on it first and straighten it out a little. But yeh, nobody around here seeks professional help to fix a broken toe. :)

While that is true- a wise man listens for what is right and good in the message, and doesn't reject it because of a typo.
I tend to think a lot faster than I can type. A good part of that is my age, and sometimes recognizing an error once made is related to retinal damage that seem to change my vision unpredictably. However, i do recognize your point- and I will try to improve on it. I'm also sort of a workaholic and usually have far too many irons in the fire- but of course, that is only my fault. Point accepted.

You are trying to falsely offer an apple disguised as an orange. That only talks about people with incomes above 75k while ignoring the other brackets. Notice is states, "Clinton has a distinct edge among lower-income voters." It also shows Trump voters in a higher category in income in every window except the lowest income window while not ignoring the 35k to 75k category as you tried to in your post.
