I'm not sure I'd call talking **** to a guy, even if it constitutes defamation, "madness". Especially when you're a billionaire who can afford to take quite a hit and keep on kicking.

I would. Calling someone a "pedo" without evidence is a lie. Why would a man with Musk's brains and billions stoop so low as to lie unless he was also nuts?

BTW, there are multiple examples of billionaires being nuts. First example: Howard Hughes.

Yep. Musk should hand over control of his twitter account to a paid PR person and should never access it again on his own.
He is a very respectable man, getting into a dirt fight with anyone on Twitter has no benefit to him whatsoever.

He was recently going nuts about media coverage, too. I wonder if he's too smart to get into politics?

See my previous post. I'm not sure I'd call talking **** madness. What consequences are there going to be? A civil suit for defamation? Even if the guy gets an extreme amount of damages, its a drop in the bucket to his personal fortune.
I flicked off a cop who was doing traffic enforcement for revenue generation today, just posted up with his radar out. Does that make me insane? Or was I just talking ****, which is not a crime yet?

I didn't say that billionaires can't go insane, I said I found your evidence cited in this discreet instance to be lacking. Reading is fundamental.

I think he should stick to rockets and EVs.
He already embarrassed himself with well publicized help to Puerto Rico that bore no fruit. And why would it - he doesn’t have a company that manufactures residential electric equipment. Same thing with that sub. He has a company that builds rockets and another that builds EVs and that’s what he should stick with.

Well, at least after 5 o'clock and before he has his morning coffee. In Musk's favor, I think he will apologize and make it right.

    https://www.theguardian.com/technol...k-british-diver-thai-cave-rescue-pedo-twitter
...On Sunday, when a Twitter user pointed out that Musk was “calling the guy who found the children a pedo”, the billionaire responded: “Bet ya a signed dollar it’s true.”

Intense criticism followed. Some Twitter users pointed out how “dangerous” and irresponsible it was to make such a serious allegation and to broadcast a potentially libelous insult to his 22 million followers.

Spokesmen for Musk and Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Later on Sunday, Musk deleted the “pedo” tweet and its follow-up.

Unsworth could not immediately be reached.

Some users reported Musk’s comments to Twitter, one saying he “shouldn’t be allowed to use Twitter to unleash [his] followers on people like this”...

they like fascism (corporatism). State Collectivists like the idea of systematically commingling government with the private sector to facilitate Greater Good™ outcomes.

(for the global socialists, controlling means of production is almost as good as outright ownership of means of production....besides, they know they'd be slaughtered in the streets if they started confiscating private American businesses. no sir, it's much safer to slowly frog-boil the dullards to the notion that fascism/corporatism is an acceptable compromise....a Third Way....between socialism/communism and 'unfair' capitalism)

He does have this, I guess:

A solar power and storage system from Tesla. I wonder whether such a thing could be practical at my northern, seasonal and often enough cloudy latitude. I wouldn't touch it at the present price, of course, but if this were to get cheap enough and work well around halfway between the equator and a pole, I'd certainly consider it.
