    @US Conservative
A HUGE problem with diagnosing a politician from a distance based on a collection of video clips (often edited) is that you don't know what was particularly going on when the video clip was recorded.

Sure, someone his age may experience an episode of confusion, say, in the presence of undiagnosed urinary tract infection, or a drop in pulse ox due to a bout of bronchitis, or severe hyperglycemia with high osmotic state, or a bout of ammonia elevation due to a side effect of a medication, or hyponatremia with a degree of cerebral edema, or an episode of transient ischemia due to a peak of blood pressure, or a drop in perfusion due to an arrhythmia, and so on and so forth. These issues may be reversible and once corrected, the senior citizen may resume much better performance. Is this normal? No, none of the above is. But it also doesn't mean that the moment pinpointed in a video is the person's baseline functioning.

If a group of opponents will want to HIGHLIGHT the person's failures, they may be guilty of selective quoting, and they WILL probably find something.

Like I showed, two can play this game:

And by the way, no, I'm not implying that Trump is demented. I'm saying, if someone wanted to catch even ME having some iffy moments, the person would be able to... but someone willing to highlight my good moments instead, would also be able to show some fairly brilliant lectures... Like everybody my age, I have some days that are better than some other days.

I've seen performances by Biden in debates and townhalls that do not appear consistent with a very significant degree of dementia like his opponents keep claiming (if we go by what they say, he is a drooling fool with advanced Alzheimer's). But of course, this diagnosis by video clip will NEVER include those good moments... I imagine that the opposition watches hours and hours of recordings of the president, to then catch and highlight the worst possible moments, and they will edit them and put them together in a manner that may impress the lay public.

Whether or not it is truly a reflection of his baseline functioning, remains to be seen.

Like I said, I reserve the task of diagnosing someone, to the patients I'm able to examine in person, both with the performance of a full physical and full neurological and psychiatric exam, and with being armed with various objective diagnostic tools. By the way, this is the ethical thing to do. There's been position statements, for example by the American Psychiatric Association, and by the ABPN, advising their diplomates to refrain from issuing public comment on possible diagnoses a politician may harbor, when they haven't been personally involved in establishing that diagnosis through state-of-the-art evidence-based practice.

And this was at a time when some psychiatrists talked about Trump's possible pathological Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

So, I'm sure at the time you agreed that such comments were inappropriate.

Why is now appropriate to be diagnosing Biden from a distance?

I've got nearly 2 decades in med ed.

I'm one of those dorks that knows how to do math manually, can name top diagnostics, and sensitivity and specificity of screens.

Biden is POTUS...you tell me that a higher specifity test is inappropriate.

    MMSE is higher.

BIDEN wouldn't play ball saying he was good...after admitting to multiple exams without releasing the results.

You understand perfectly what that looks like and I'm not saying it to appease you (who you say you are and.wcome to the dox party pal-commies have done this to me for decades) Biden is not in a good place medically and you have reason to suspect that as well.

For the low acuity nobody here is diagnosing Biden.

    That does it.

I will say this now and for the record. I am NOT voting for Hunter Biden in this next election.

Joe, definitely if he's running, and Kamala Harris if he's not, but Hunter? no, even I have limits

He needs to be investigated by a Special Counsel without political ties to his investments. And we're going to impeach him cause (1) Democrats have maliciously misused process and abused power, and (2) I would have 100% swung to 'team impeachment' if Democrats had that kind of evidence cause that's evidence.

And I doubt that you or any other Democrat would treat Trump equally in any situation. In a few days, a Democrat nitwit is going to post that same debunked NYTimes tax article, and it will be dismantled in minuted cause those authors, in my opinion, lack education in that field.

Trump refused to release his tax returns, Biden released his, so yes, Trump got treated different

No. He deserves a metal cause Biden is F-ing guilty. The guy you thought was corrupt wasn't really that dude, and they guy you voted for is one of the most corrupt Presidents this country has ever elected. You guys wasted tons of money and time on this nonsense.

And then you guys continue to post a nonsensical NYTimes story that keeps getting debunked. And you have no idea what the F you're talking about cause you never tax or corporate law. And honestly, the reporters don't even know what the F they're talking about. Democrats just post it and repeat the headline. Hey why don't you give me a little summary of the tax benefits and liabilities when choosing a C corp. instead of an S? Can you provide me a scenario where you can take a lost on your income taxes while your corporate entity makes hundreds of taxes? Don't worry about it. The NYTimes didn't know the answer to the question either.

Who cares about income tax statements? Pretty obvious Biden is cheating on his taxes through a middle man (Hunter), because he has to pay income tax on the proceeds of a criminal conspiracy. That's how they got Capone.

And Biden is 10X worse than that. Tripping and falling over himself. Wandering aimlessly. So 25th Amendment time, correct?

Not a mastermind at all. It’s all right there. You can hear his words regarding China and see his actions destroying the country.

Hey. Trump is a super genius changing an election with a few thousand dollars worth of Facebook ads, hehe. So say the Dems.

    Curiouser and curiouser . . . .
Is It Time for a Special Counsel Over Hunter Biden?

    Jonathan Turley

“Come on H this is linked to Celtic’s account.” Those nine words from a retired Secret Service agent to Hunter Biden in recently released emails may prove a nasty complication for some in Washington who have struggled to contain the blowback from the still-unfolding scandal linked to Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop.

“Celtic” was the Secret Service code name for Joe Biden, and recent disclosures may puncture the media’s cone-of-silence around the scandal. The emails link President Biden to his son’s accounts and indicate a commingling of funds with money coming from controversial foreign sources. Even more embarrassing, the shared account may have been used to pay a Russian prostitute named “Yanna.”. . . .

Ha, the left used the china virus to justify mailing ballots to every Tom, Dick and Pedro. They even used them for Newsom's recall. These are the types of ballots Nadler, affectionately known as the Penquin, said were prone to fraud. And do you really think Biden has a chance of winning in 2024 without that fraud happening again? The guy never answers questions, how is he going to campaign and do interviews without answering questions? And Harris? LOLOLOLOL, she can't sleep with the entire country, but if she was ever the president she could sure F the entire country.

    I've got more than that.
Higher than what? The Mini-Mental Status Examination is less sensitive than the MoCA, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, and much less sensitive than the RBANS. If you don't know that, you need to go back and read on these tests. I did give you a link to an assessment of the sensitivity of the RBANS.
Yes, you are, although not in so many words. For someone who is on Med Ed for two decades, I hope you teach your students not to diagnose from a distance, without seeing the patient, and with incomplete information.

Good luck conducting a fine-point neurological exam by telemedicine.

The RBANS, though, can be administered by telemedicine, in certain situations. I've done telemedicine too (actually, a lot, during the pandemic) but it is not suitable to all situations, as you must know.

Look, if you're debating by not having time for a post, then we're done here. Have a nice day.

And you know that, how? Are you a physician? Have you examined the president? Again, everybody has an opinion, but only qualified specialists who actually have examined the president and looked at his tests can have a VALID opinion. Like I said, it's possible that he is impaired but I wouldn't know without personally examining him and conducting tests. There are many other causes for a dip in performance at his age (many of which can be corrected), like I said in a previous post.

Jonathan Turley is a Complete IDIOT.

I would fully expect that sort of delusional Anti-Biden brain diarrhea from him:

On a November 13, 2020 appearance on Fox News, Turley stated, “In Michigan, you had thousands of votes that were given to Biden that belonged to Trump,“ Fox Host Steve Doocy responded by informing Turley that a software error caused the issue, was corrected, and the votes in question didn’t impact the outcome of the election.”

A Special Counsel "over Hunter Biden" would be Imbecilic, Unneeded, and a Ridiculous Waste of Money.

I’m just giving my opinion and comparing him with my mother who went from Dementia to Alzheimer’s. Good luck with him being tested unless he has a stroke on live TV. He’s already gone blank a few times which should be concerning to anyone with a brain.
