Nothing? And who cares if London cares about or not? Get real and look about the migration of the finance sector from London away to Frankfurt!

Frankfurt is nothing and on no one's radar.
    It didn't happen.
People would rather the EU sort itself out than trade in Frankfurt.

And for a currency adopted by a bunch of countries who had no money who's currencies were worth 500 to £0.50, I think London has nothing to worry about.

Global Britain will do all it can to survive.

Remember, you're talking about The EU; who are The EU?

Small countries breaking apart in this bloc of small countries.
You don't like your place in this new world we're living in.

We'll wish we'd left this unelected oligarchical outfit years ago.

are you confusing passporting with migration...all that is happening is that the UK based financial markets are setting up vehicles in order to gain access for licensing purposes (e.g. BaFin in Germany). For example Lloyd's of London has a "branch" office in Brussels but it is not moving to Belgium - underwriters are using their London based capacity to write risks in London for insureds based on continental Europe through subsidiaries in Ireland or Brussels or Malta or elsewhere; Lloyd's of London is not re-branding to Lloyd's of Europe. Likewise the financial markets based in London will continue to be based in London operating via passporting entities set in continental Frankfurt or elsewhere. You seem to have missed the point I made earlier about borders not being barriers.

That's why real estate in London is tanking and in Frankfurt is booming, going through the roof ?

Hopefully Brexit from the EU will mean we'd be outside of the EU and outside of being prompted for Cookies every 5 seconds!

I swear it's the EU's fault we have to suffer Cookies prompting to an unholy anal degree.

Frankfurt will gain around 10,000 banking jobs, from London.
Those are well paying jobs. Those folks need catering, from Restaurants to the cleaning lady, which adds more jobs. Same for Amsterdam or Paris.
Those jobs will be lost in London, too and naturally the revenues, taxes, of those jobs.

    London is feeling that already.
Real estate values and prices are declining, first time since 2009

Not at all - it's more a question of 'Britannia ruling itself, and not being ruled by a bunch of incompetent and self-serving foreign bureaucrats.' Makes sense to me. Ni-gel, Ni-gel :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:

Elites in the EU seem to be pro Socialist.

Can't have an STD if you want a visa for USA, why should UK be any different?
So what if Farage's Brexit Party wants to ban people with HIV positive from a UK visa?
If USA don't want it, why should UK?

I'm not saying people with HIV positive are bad, I'm just saying, if USA doesn't allow you to have an STD and an American visa, why should people expect to get a British visa if they're HIV positive?
I back Farage on that one.

Populist buffoons have a way of getting things done.
    Teddy Roosevelt
Jimmy Carter (Camp David peace deal)
    Ronald Reagan
    Donald Trump

Britain could use a Boris Johnson right now.
Be more British and less "European".

Now I'm with you. But Boris Johnson though? On the world stage??

    upload_2019-5-19_7-39-34.jpeg

Nah, let's go with someone who has the gravitas to restore our reputation from being the world's fool after this Brexit pantomime - someone like this . . .

It's about time we had a statesman as our PM, after all the losers we've been lumbered with since The Blessed Margaret was so unceremoniously shoved out of Number 10.

Neither RR or Carter were populist.
Even that Carter's ideas were not that wrong he did not get anything accomplished, beside the Camp David deal.
RR is a split decision about his accomplishments. The best he did, to give a country which was in doubt about itself, its pride back.
He did that in a none populistic way, more like the patron of a family. He had warmth in his heart.
Populists are without that quality, its about them, nothing else.

Farage and Johnson are opportunist, its all about them. They are not honest

Both Reagan and Carter were elected via voters rebelling against their party's leaders' wishes.
    True?

Maybe, but that does not make them populist.

Oh ... always the same from me? Interesting ... is it possible that you Brexit clowns are consistently claiming the same and disproved bullcrap? Funny and really strange that I have to give the same answer over and over again!

You know ... when, after the Brexit referendum two years ago, many financial firms announced they were closing their offices in London, or at least drastically reducing them, and then going to Frankfurt or other locations within the EU, Brexit clowns hate them directly Tirade against these people let loose that it only smoked with hate! And now? All forgotten, eh?

Let's just wait ... because a lot depends on how Brexit happens.

The same applies to the UK economy, because in today's global economy patriotism and nationalism are no longer of interest!
For example, BMW owns the Rolls Royce and Mini brands ... at least at the Mini I would not be surprised if production in the UK is largely relocated to the EU, with all the implications for jobs in the UK.
With a "No Deal" 10% tariff will be due on every Mini that is built in the EU and goes in the EU! The EU single market is "a bit bigger" than the UK market. For BMW, only numbers in terms of cost and profit count ... as with any group! Should that be the case, I can already hear the **** storm, which starts once again against the evil Germans and evil BMW!
Only ... many other corporations and companies from other countries also think about it for the same reason ... for example Toyota! So the list ... if you're still fair in the UK ... will be very long and very interantional where a **** storm will blow!
