All African states will vote for Palestine joining the UN during the upcoming UN General Assembly session slated for September 20, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al Maliki told reporters in Addis Ababa on Sunday.

He added that the African Union earlier endorsed Palestine’s push for entering the UN, which is currently mulling recognizing Palestine as an independent state.

Earlier this week, El Salvador and Honduras announced the recognition of Palestine in a move that Al Maliki said he hopes will prompt other Central American countries to follow suit.

Palestine’s independence is due to be on the UN’s table in September.

It is awesome that the world is not following the poor leadership of the US government on this matter. It is still very difficult to comprehend why the US government has not changed its position to embrace the obvious. Yet, at least the world is smart enough to recognize that it does not have to follow or repeat a bad example. Bravo Africa! The voice of the people rules!

ewww.. a bunch of non-influential loser ex-colonies full of half naked, starving people support a group of people most of them have probably never heard of in a land far away from the vast majority of them?

Why would anyone in the Sudan give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about the Palis?

Certainly Sudan knows about Palestine.. the Israelis have been supplying rebel groups with arms for years.

Guess you didn't know.. Sudan has newspapers and medical schools.

Had a bad day at the hotel or something?!

Your derogatory comments are astounding. (e.g. "the Palis" -- what in the world?!)

Man that's the "upper crust" of society. Most places in Africa are little better tahn African Bushmen with permanent housing and an agrarian lifestyle

The UN vote, even discussion of it, serves to polarize progressives and racists.

Africa is not a country. It is a continent. Also, nations run by black people are not limited to: "killing, disease and extreme poverty, rape, and genocide". You might want to reexamine such racist and geographically ignorant views. Yet, it is understandable that your unconditional rejection of the nation of Palestine is based on such extreme ignorance and severe racism.

Qaddafi is behind Qaddafi but Africa is not Qaddafi and Qaddafi is currently hiding from the African people in Africa. Yet, your belief that the African people are Qaddafi explains the madness of unconditionally rejecting the nation of Palestine. It is a pity that some would rather generalize against all of the African people in a extremely hostile manner simply because of their misled support for Israel.

At the going rate, 4 countries will vote for the Israeli argument: Likudnik Israel, AIPAC of America, Wilder's Holland and the German guilt complex. The rest of the 170+ nations will oppose racism and reject the hatred of Semites.

Prior to this thread I thought Silicon Magic was just horribly confused and misinformed about economics. Now it appears he is equally clueless about an entire continent! Africa may be the poorest continent on the planet (except Antarctica), but many nations in Africa are much better off than SM is giving them credit for. The United States is getting to the point where it probably buys as much oil from Africa as it does from the Middle East, for example.

This is good. Perhaps the world will see a change in attitude and be more aware of the BS propaganda that plagues the Palestine people. After all, they are humans like any other people who live in the region.

The Zionist propaganda machinery is whipping up fear in Europe and the US is threatening financial penalties on European governments. I dare say that there will be an anti-freedom European bloc.

Where did I point out that a lot of Africa is racist? I certainly didn't. There are racist elements in Africa, such as Gaddafi or Robert Mugabe. Yet, to argue that most Africans are racist, is a heavily racist attitude. Are you sure that such is the best defense of the current Israeli government?

Khadafi was from a small Berber tribe.... and evidently he didn't like the Berbers... as he tried to eradicate their memory by changing the names of 4 Berber villages. Sounds racist to me..

lol ok try and understand what im trying to say here. all i did was point out the fact was that alot of death, slavery, rape and genocide in Africa and you called me a racist for stating the facts about Africa and its people. and im also stating because Africa is such a crap stain on the world, much like most of the ME its very irrelevant of what they agree with.

i never said africa was racist, just a crap stain of rape, slavery and genocide and its point of view is really not needed lol.
