The former son-in-law of Paul Manafort, the one-time chairman of President Donald Trump's campaign, has cut a plea deal with the Justice Department that requires him to cooperate with other criminal probes, two people with knowledge of the matter said.

The guilty plea agreement, which is under seal and has not been previously reported, could add to the legal pressure on Manafort, who is facing two indictments brought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in his probe of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

You left out the most important snip from the article

Jeffrey Yohai, a former business partner of Manafort, was divorced from Manafort’s daughter last August.

"former son-in-law" doesn't do anything for me, but "former business partner" rings with many more possibilities...

Did you read the article? He wasn't even told he would be required to cooperate. So valuable he is that he is basically not needed, they have him just in case... Jeez

Mueller was embarrassed to prosecute the poor schmuck (he is using a public defender according to the article) on ridiculous (bank account overdraft) charges so he let him go with a slap on the wrist and a deal that in the event Mueller ever needs him, he'd be required to cooperate. Duh

LOL, another fail, still no there, there :D

It's only torture when done to an enemy of America. That's when lefty has a bird ... if Pelosi was waterboarding Trump you " American Lefty" would be thrilled . True that .

The only collusion going on is between the leftist media and the FBI to subvert our political process. Click around in here and make sure to read the book of an article by the NYT. FBI is having them softbreak the fact they spied on Trumps campaign. And all kinds of other crap. No collusion with Russia but a whole lot of constitutional abuse by the FBI, Obama, Hillary..

The proverbial crap is about to hit the fan when that IG report comes out. Hold on to your safe spaces leftists your gonna needem

"but the two people familiar with the matter say they consider it a possibility that he will be asked to assist with Mueller’s prosecution of Manafort."

Which of course, is the logical presumption. I mean, unless Manafort is so stupid as to give his son-in-law incriminating information pertaining to his activities as part of the Trump Campaign.

But let's step back and think about this for a moment: Why would Manafort keep quiet about information that could lessen his own sentence? Fear of the Russians isn't exactly stipulating enough. Manafort would likely want a smaller deal that lets him enjoy at least senior age outside of the federal pen house.

Indeed, I'm betting Mueller expected Manafort 'cooperation' by now. The announcement of this through leaks, is intended to 'pressure' Manafort, but Manafort already knows everything the son-in-law knows(and doesn't know). It's not pressuring in the least from a criminal perspective.

Mueller's going to have to try a lot harder than this.

So this is how Mueller is going to attempt to save what's remaining of his reputations, squeeze person C so he can squeeze person B so he can build a case against person A who can't be indicted. Take Mueller's practice far enough and one of us might be called in for an interrogation one day.

And that website, if you keep scrolling down it keeps loading new stories with all of them negative towards Trump. Nah, media isn't biased.

Sure we already know quite alot and it's just the tip of the iceberg... Why do you suppose the FBI leaked info to their puppet the NYT and they wrote a novel about it? Damage control
