What's readily known is that Comey refused to do right by both the American People and by the President of the United States. He was thus rightly terminated, and this stupid question only exists because it's Trump.

In reality, when Comey(and associates) revealed classified information to CNN on January 23rd, 2017 but refused to alert the President, it was at that time he committed an act of insubordination(like Sally Yates). And if I were POTUS, I would have fired him immediately on January 23rd, 2017.

Trump asked Comey if he was under investigation and Comey told Trump that he was not under investigation. My guess is that Trump
knew that his name would come up in the Russian meddling thing and he decided to end it. He told Holt that the Russian thing was on his mind when he fired Comey. Comey was not trying to take trump down. He was doing his job.

Of course, it does. He was specifically asked if he fired Comey because of the Russian investigation, and Trump answered that he was thinking about the Russian thing when he decided to fire Comey. Do you think that Trump was lying again when he made that statement?

Rosenstein was ordered by Trump to write that letter in response to the way Comey handled the Clinton emails. When Rosenstein heard that Trump was applying that letter to the Russian thing, he said that he had been used.

The investigation, as far as Trump knew then, was not against him as Comey kept telling him and there was no Mueller yet. Comey leaked to the press to help insure a special prosecution was started. If you cannot see the problem here, an un-elected official trying to take down a duly elected President, then I can't help you.

An unelected official is part of we the people. The potus is supposed to be a servant of the people, not the other way around like trump thinks.

Read all about it in the CONUS.

    "Trying to subvert our government"?

On what basis?--facts, please, not a parade of Bonespurs' fabrications.

Comey only told Trump once that he was not under investigation and that was an answer to Trump's inquiry. Comey did not leak anything. After Comey was fired and no longer employed he was open about an investigation into Russian meddling. It was not confidential.

Comey did not subvert our government. Trump is subverting our government with his antics.

Working to remove a freely and fairly elected President is not subversion of our government?

So you are going to ignore facts to hold onto your bias. Not surprised.

Well, if in Muellars report there is ample evidence to show that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to illegally influence the campaign, he didn't subvert our government. If not, he clearly did.

How do you know that's what Mueller is doing?

Besides, if he did commit crimes that rise to the level of impeachment, wouldn't you want him removed? Nobody is above the law, my friend.

I also asked for facts. You didn't cite to any facts.

What classified information was released by Comey and who were his associates?

LOL, working to unseat a freely fairly elected President is not subversion but words you don't like is. Go figure.

Comey, not Mueller. Comey made sure that a prosecutor was assigned by leaking to the press, along with the other FBI players like Strzok, Priestap, Page, and McCabe. That was the 'insurance policy' started while Trump was campaigning.

I didn't say that. I said unelected officials are we the people. What part of that do you not understand?

You are claiming that we the people are trying to subvert our government.

We the people use constitutional amendments to change government.

    Try again.

WASHINGTON—At least two of the memos that former FBI Director James Comey gave to a friend outside of the government contained information that officials now consider classified, according to people familiar with the matter, prompting a review by the Justice Department’s internal watchdog.

Of those two memos, Mr. Comey himself redacted elements of one that he knew to be classified to protect secrets before he handed the documents over to his friend. He determined at the time that another memo contained no classified information, but after he left the Federal Bureau of Investigation, bureau officials upgraded it to “confidential,” the lowest level of classification.

The Justice Department inspector general is now conducting an investigation into classification issues related to the Comey memos, according to a person familiar with the matter. Mr. Comey has said he considered the memos personal rather than government documents. He has told Congress that he wrote them and authorized their release to the media “as a private citizen.”

Mr. Comey gave four total memos to his friend Daniel Richman, a former federal prosecutor who is now a professor at Columbia Law School, people familiar with the matter said. Three were considered unclassified at the time and the one was that was classified contained the redactions made by Mr. Comey.

As FBI director, Mr. Comey had the legal authority to determine what bureau information was classified and what wasn’t. Once he left government, however, the determination fell to other officials. The FBI deemed the memos classified sometime during 2017, one of the people familiar with the matter said.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly accused Mr. Comey of mishandling classified information in a bid to discredit the former FBI director, whom he fired last year. The public feud between the two men has intensified this week, as Mr. Comey has granted several interviews while promoting a memoir that is highly critical of Mr. Trump.

This is a Wall Street Journal article and I hope it alleviates any confusion created by Trump, who has a habit of recreating history.
