That may have been where he got the name, but the idea was from other male students at Yale who were already creating a website where Yale guys could put up their page in hopes of droves of women seeking relationships with them.

Another whistleblower accuses Facebook of valuing growth and profits over the combating of hate speech and misinformation

"The allegations are found in an affidavit filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday morning and reviewed by The Washington Post. They echo many of those made by Frances Haugen, whose testimony before Congress intensified bipartisan calls for federal action against the social media company."

Internal Facebook documents suggest it knew that the platform pushed some users toward far-right conspiracies

"Facebook’s own research found that it pushed some users into “rabbit holes,” increasingly narrow echo-chambers where violent conspiracy theories thrived, according to documents obtained by NBC News. People radicalized through these rabbit holes make up a small slice of total users, but at Facebook's scale, that can mean millions of individuals."

Facebook Papers show company maximizes for engagement, dropping or delaying efforts to reduce misinformation and radicalization

"A personal decision by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg leads to a crackdown on dissent in Vietnam. Measures to suppress hateful, deceptive content are lifted after the American presidential election in 2020.
A trove of internal Facebook documents reveal that the social media giant has privately and meticulously tracked real-world harms exacerbated by its platforms, ignored warnings from its employees about the risks of their design decisions and exposed vulnerable communities around the world to a cocktail of dangerous content. Hold up, so people that get vaccinated know where to find the truth as opposed to people who have not been vaccinated. These non vaccinated people and Trump supporters turn to social media. Do I have that correct?

Facebook in 2019 was told of ‘social civil war’ in Poland, triggered by negative posts

"Poland emerged as one of the European political battlegrounds after Facebook shifted its algorithm in 2018 to reward angry and divisive messaging, according to internal Facebook documents reviewed by The Post. Now European regulators are seeking to force greater transparency from Facebook and other Silicon Valley tech giants."

    Facebook definition of "harmful practice"

"Harmful practice" = showing patriotism to America, supporting fiscal conservatism, questioning frauds like 911 and global warming

"Non harmful practice" = using taxpayer money to cage dogs and watch insects eat them, complete with soda, popcorn, and a seat next to dr Fauci.

Facebook to end use of controversial facial recognition software, saying it will delete data on more than a billion people

"In a blog post, the social media company said that it made the decision after “careful consideration,” by weighing the trade-offs between the technology’s promising potential and the concerns that it has sparked around the world."

Surprise Facebook decision to ban facial recognition was in the works for a year, responding to regulatory, privacy concerns

"The social media giant announced this week it was shuttering its facial recognition program and deleting the faces of more than a billion users from its databases. The decision was in the works long before the current scandal brought on by a whistleblower, and it was championed internally by the company’s artificial intelligence team and supported by policy professionals who believe that regulation of such controversial technologies is coming eventually anyway, said several people familiar with the company’s thinking. The incoming chief technology officer argued for a different approach, including expanding facial recognition into the company’s new hardware products."
