Father jailed for trying to sell his daughter

A Wisconsin man who tried to sell his 4-year-old daughter for sex was sentenced to 60 years in prison.
In 2015, Turley placed a Craigslist ad with the title, "Play with Daddie's Little Girl."According to the district attorney's office, in subsequent emails with undercover police officers, Turley wrote that he had a girl who was "younger than 10" and he would give her "sleep meds" before the encounter. Turley wrote that he charged $1,000 for two hours with his daughter and said the girl might be "too young for intercourse but everything else was OK"

All of this happened in Texas, why is this guy referred to as a Wisconsin man? Why did it take 3 years to for this to get settled? That's ridiculous. What else can you say? That's a sick puppy and no amount of prison time is sufficient justice...

The undercover officer and Turley scheduled a time to meet in Houston when Turley was set to visit his daughter at her mother’s apartment. The officer said when he arrived at the apartment, Turley checked the cash and took him to a bedroom where the girl was in a bed and appeared to be “under the influence of an unknown substance.” The officer then arrested Turley

So he already had the girl drugged and in a bed. How does this guy not get corporal punishment?

 

Because the same people who are out on the streets right now trying to suppress our rights also fight tooth and nail to make sure people like this subhuman enjoy a comfortable and short prison stay.

This guy should absolutely be kept separate from the rest of humanity for a very long time, but come on, let's not pretend that it's going to fix anything, it's just containment. You want him to suffer because, as human beings, we all feel hopelessly inadequate in face of the enormity of the universe and he is a stand-in for random tragedy that we can take that angst out on. I feel that too, but we can't be motivated by things like that. People like him only get twisted into even more deranged monsters when prisons are designed to torture instead of rehabilitate.

It's doubtful that we can ever rehabilitate a man like this, but I think we ought to try, just for the off chance that we can use him to advance our understanding of sexual offenders. Maybe one day we'll figure out how to at least prevent people from becoming like this, or find some way to cure pedophiles of their pedophilia. It's almost certain that this man is a pedophile himself, because I don't think someone can just go from being a normal person who doesn't think about violating children to offering up your own flesh and blood to rapists on craigslist without a few stops along the way.
