Nah! Chilled meatloaf, sliced thin, piled high and lots of cheese! Yum! (Of course, my meatloaf is homemade, so I'm biased!)
LOL. Yes, it's different. It's a processed kind of cheese that most folks would turn up their noses at, but we yanks just love. Comes in individually wrapped slices. Very mild. I like all kinds of cheese, mind you... but for sandwiches, gotta be American. Unless I'm gonna melt it over bbq meat, then provolone for the win!
yeah thats true...Ive had it several times..cant say it was the same every time... Ive never liked any of it though... Just seems wrong to butcher (pardon the pun) a perfectly good pound of ground sirloin that could otherwise be used to make delicious cheeseburgers hopefully this pic is deemed "on-topic"
try a fluffernutter sometime. even if you don't like it, you can use the leftover fluff to make fudge...just don't mail out the fudge, 'cause then you'd have to pack it in a box and some people would snicker.
Fluffernutter? OMG!!! Just reading that put five pounds on each thigh and shot my blood sugar through the roof! lol
They have American cheese in Oz ..Kraft actually, its in every Coles and Woolies in Australia..and its called American cheese there too...As a matter of fact its the single most type of cheese I saw in the supermarkets there. And like Mike said before...All McDonalds use American cheese...Including the ones in Australia..at least all the Maccas I went to there anyway. The one difference is that the American cheese sold in the supermarkets in Oz is white American only.. But at Maccas its the same exact cheese as in American Mcdonalds.
lol omg thats terrible chilled meatloaf? and you call yourself an American? No, actually Ive never tried it chilled... Maybe I'd actually like it...maybe not Wouldnt you rather have a cheeseburger? A chilled cheeseburger even? lol
lol.. ok..you can have your passport back Youre in California so you must have an In n Out near you.. talk about ta die for...the burgers there are awesome!
One of my all-time favorite sandwiches is the good old-fashioned BLT... w/5-6 crispy golden fried slices of bacon..... that is a good healthy snack...
OMG, yes, In-n-Out Burgers really are to die for. They're a close second to my homemade meatloaf-ketchup-cheese sandwiches. A really, really close second!
We have the same rubbish over here, in McD's and supermarkets, but I've never seen it called 'American Cheese'. It's normally just called 'Processed Cheese', but it's often referred to as 'Plastic Cheese'. Personally I prefer to stick to 'Real Cheese'! As for sandwiches, I would normally go for egg mayonnaise, preferably with either cress or chives. A man of simple tastes, me!
A sandwich of the back of the pork with slices of tomato, olive oil and alioli (the bread must be "French" bread or "Mallorquin" braed that is much better). It is my favourite sandwich.
I have a lot of sanwhiches I like a lot. - Philly Cheesesteak - Gyros - Chicago Italian Beef - Reuben - Muffaletta - Italian sub
They're delicious. They're from New Orleans. It has mostly Italian meats with provolone and an olive mixture spread. It's served on thick bread. Most places press them and serve them warm. You get the best ones in the Big Easy.
My favorite is as follows... -Corned beef -Pastrami -Swiss Cheese -Sauted Peppers -A little olive oil All on a Italian loaf
I've seen Reuben mentioned a couple times... but I think I might have a twist on the Reuben that you Reuben fans might love. This is a recipe passed down from my grandma My folks opened a bar and grill and used this recipe... it turned out to be pretty popular! Ingredients: pumpernickel bread (instead of rye), canned corn beef (instead of sliced), sauerkraut, butter, and swiss cheese. Directions: Take two pieces of pumpernickel bread and cover them both on one side with butter. Place one piece of bread, butter side down, in the skillet on medium heat. Place a piece of swiss cheese on the bread, then place the sliced canned corn beef (cut to desired thickness), then a layer of sauerkraut. Now put the other piece of bread, butter side up, on the sandwich. After a few minutes (once the cheese has melted and the beef and kraut is warm), flip the sandwich over so that the other piece of buttered bread gets toasted. DONE! Give me the benefit of doubt and try it! You might have a new favorite sandwich
Oh god, I LOVE reuben sandwiches!!! Corned beef, saurkraut, pumpernickle, cheese... what's not to love??? *cries*
I know! Unfortunately my girl wont let us have them very often... they are unhealthy and what not psshhh
