    A fat guy on YT does an amazing cover of 'Closer' (Kings of Leon. Whom I loathe - but that song is a masterpiece). Sitting on his bed in his pokey little bedroom. Voice like pebbles in a velvet bag.

    and my favourite band in the whole world covered them when I was 6.


    I was older when I learnt that this song's local to me.. That was cool. :)

    Depends how you choose to define "cover". Usually a "cover" is an "updated" version of an older song, but in my opinion using the melody but changing the lyrics is to be considered a cover too and thus even parodies fall under "cover songs".

    Well, I consider a cover song to be a serious cover of the song and a parody is a parody of a song, changing lyrics or making fun, etc.
