The FBI has sent a memo to law enforcement agencies across the country warning of possible armed protests at all 50 state Capitols starting Jan. 16, and also says an armed group has threatened to travel to Washington, D.C., the same day and stage an uprising if Congress removes President Donald Trump from office, according to a senior law enforcement official.

The memo includes information provided by the ATF, DEA, Defense Department, Park Police, and the U.S. Marshals, among other agencies, according to the official. Some of the information came from social media, some from open source, and some from other sources of information.

And to top it all off Chad Wolf the ACTING head of Homeland Security has just resigned effective immediately. At least 2 capitol police suspended immediately and 10 or more under investigation for their work performance and actions during the insurrection of January 6.

We're a nation under law. If they follow the law, obey the protest ordnances, etc. let them peacefully protest. If not, enforce the law.

Deescalation of all this will be a huge challenge.. Some have claimed that they are prepared and preparing for "war" "armed " protest is an oxymoron.

And ARMED PROTEST is what it is being called.

That can only end badly. But I get the sense that they don't care........ as they have literally programmed them elves into this kind of fanaticism.

 

It is real simple - Trump and his sycophants need to get the message out there that though they had reasons to believe that there was "election fraud" that since they have been unable to find the supporting evidence, that they accept Biden as the rightful winner and request that his followers do the same and end all rallies and protests

The Post reports that the FBI wrote up a report shortly after learning about the thread, and it was shared with their Washington field office the day before the storming of Congress. Their sources also say the FBI was still analyzing the raw intelligence in the report, “and that agencies who receive it ‘are requested not to take action based on this raw reporting without prior coordination with the FBI.'”

They did warn, but the decision makers didn't want to prepare because "it would look bad".

They also might have thought Trump loyalists were pro-cop, which turned out to be a fatal mistake.

 

You should read all of the post before making false assumptions. And while the FBI was still analyzing the intel they did not advise the Capital Police to warn them and to beef up their force. The FBI has become just another useless bureaucracy. As for your second comment angry people see the police as obstacles when they get in the way of their "mission." And unfortunately for the under powered capital police that is what happened. What I didn't see was the CP pulling their weapons out and defend themselves against the angry mob but maybe that hesitation to pull their weapons is due to the recent condemnation of police officers who did pull their weapons which started the "defend police" movement. I bet now the "defund police" groups wish the CP had pulled their weapons and killed the rioters. Yet they cried when police killed the rioters around the country.
