There are many women in feminism who claim that Donald Trump and any number of others are misogynists.

They are committing what is known in mathematics as a subset-superset fallacy. Not liking some of a kind does not mean not liking any of a kind. Most people will like some women and dislike others. Most people will like some men and dislike others. I consider it foolishness to expect anything else.

To these people the question that needs to be asked is, Does the fact that you dislike some men make you a misandrist? Does the fact that you dislike Donald Trump mean that you hate men?

I do not need to like Catherine McKinnon in order to love the women in my family. Similarly you do not need to like Donald Trump in order to love your father or your son.

It so happens that I've had extensive dealings with men who are genuinely misogynistic. The men who think that women should be slaves, and that they should kill a woman in case that she leaves them. The men who think that women are an “incomplete gender” possessing a “penis envy.” The men who think that women are irrational, or stupid, or evil, or wild. I have had many things to say to such men.

When these women accuse someone like me of being a misogynist, they are crying wolf. And crying wolf is an irresponsible behavior. It makes you and others not credible when a real wolf appears. You are dealing with someone who has written love poetry for several women. You are dealing with someone who sacrificed a very nice setup to be with someone he loved. You are dealing with someone who has had female bosses and was comfortable with the arrangement. You are dealing with someone who has incurred danger, financial loss and damage to reputation as part of an effort to help women who are being screwed over in court.

So they claim that they want equality. Equality means treatment based on one's personal qualities. As Martin Luther King said, “I have a dream that a man will be judged not based on the color of his skin but based on the contents of his character.” These women are doing their followers a disservice. They are teaching them to be bad people. And in a climate of actual equality, these women do not stand to be treated well.

For as long as men choose to act like jerks, there will be a need for one or another form of feminism. However it has to be a wiser feminism than what we have seen in recent decades. You accomplish absolutely nothing by attacking people like me. And if you really are the strong women that you claim to be, then you need to be confronting actual misogynists. And of these there are plenty.

Stop at your first line...once again seeing all women who don’t like trump “in feminismism” it isn’t a club. Why don’t you just say there are women who see him as a misogynist. I see a man who commits adultery and brags about grabbing women’s ******* and violating them as a misogynist. I see a man who brags about going into the dressing room with young girls because he can as disgusting. I don’t know women who do not believe in equality. I guess you do
Your hatred for strong women is so obvious......and it is obvious you are petrified of them. We’re going to corrupt all women with our evil and nastiness...get over it.

No, I do not hate strong women. Once again, my grandmother was a very strong woman, and I love her. Attitude is not the same thing as strength.

My grandmother was very shy and didn’t stand up for herself and I loved her. Does that mean that I love Shy and weak women? You call strong women feminists as a perjorative and you disparage them and as I say in my workshop ....how do you deal with the problem if you don’t know you have one

That is completely untrue. I respect actual strength; I do not respect bad attitude. As for the strong women, many of them have told me such things as that feminism has gone too far. https://sites.google.com/site/ilyashambatthought/-strong-black-sisters-and-feminism-1

feminists are a diverse group. they range from boring conservative housewives baking pie who are proud to be a woman to angry, androgenous bull-dykes with man-hating penis envy and a superiority complex.

    feminism =\= hate

feminism is the search for equality. it can even simply be the maintenance of equality, as some women feel that maximum equality has already been acheived, and they simply want to protect what their mothers and grandmothers acheived.

You’re right, feminism has definitely gone too far. You should see the medical schools, they’re half women now. You should see the law schools they are half women now. And all these women becoming CEOs, this is just gone too far. And Harvard and West Point having all these women going there? That’s going to far and women getting equal pay for equal work? What are these broads think they are, we know men deserve more for the same work. And women being able to have reproductive freedom? That should be forced to breed against their will. Soon women will want to be Supreme Court Justice’s .

Pardon my ignorance what does this mean? feminism =\= hate
When you described feminists you also left out all the men from ceos to dads.
Why the hell would any woman have penis envy? Well I could see one in that’s peeing standing up. But hairy balls hanging there and so vulnerable to a kick (tongue in cheek) I think many of the ones with vagina and breasts envy. They’re always trying to touch them

Once again, I have nothing against women advancing in society, my issue is with how many women have become bad human beings.

Many people have become bad human beings, I do not understand what that has to do with feminism. I do not understand what equality for women has to do with becoming bad human beings. Once again you are unaware that you were connecting feminists with bad human beings. And what is so sad is you don’t even realize it
There are bad priests, so you condemn the whole religion?

So you agree that there have been bad people in feminism, correct?
There have been people telling me that the likes of Andrea Dworkin and Catherine McKinnon do not speak for the whole of feminism. If this is the case then who are the better people in it these days?

I am confused, is feminism a club? Are you saying that these women are representative of women who believe in equal rights? Are you saying they are the rule and not the exception?
Is that like the white suprematists representing white males ?
Is that like a bad black dude representing civil rights?
Feminism is a believe in equality for women. A feminist is one who believes in equality for women. If you do not believe in that you were not a feminist if you do you are a feminist. Plain and simple

Well, that depends on what you mean by equality.
Equality of rights, absolutely. I believe that women should have all the rights that men have.
Equality of opportunity, also. Women should have all the opportunities that men have as well.
Equality as sameness, no. There are valid differences between genders, and I believe that these differences should be celebrated. You can bear children; I cannot. Men, on my part, find it easier to have upper-body strength than do women, and that's because how their bodies are made. I am not saying that one gender should dominate the other; I believe that there are, once again, valid, natural differences between men and women. So that when Julia Mancuso wins women's slalom competition while wearing a tiara, she is doing the right thing.
I have more to say on this at https://sites.google.com/site/ilyashambatthought/what-do-you-mean-by-equality
Knowing this, you may tell me whether or not my stance is consistent with feminism.

You’re acting as though women are saying they are the same as men. That’s ridiculous. Ten pennies equal one dime,,,,They are equal but they are not the same.
I read this piece before and I disagree with so much especially with your biases.amd suppositions like women have to be tough like men, no we don’! We don’t want to be like men who do nasty things ...I also wonder what kind of minister would say he values a daughter more. Pretty sad

The priest actually said that men and women are "equal in value, different in roles.” I said that I value my daughter as much - if not more - than I would value a son.
Many people consider as bias to be any opinions other than their own. Sometimes what we see is bias; sometimes what we see is a legitimate opinion. So that while many people who, say, take Bible seriously, are bigots, there are any number of others who have a very good reason for believing what they believe.
Equal but not the same is quite consistent with my own values. Once again, Julia Mancuso won a slalom competition while wearing a tiara. This is something that has implications for many women.

I See a parent who values his daughter more than he values his son as a delinquent parent. No child should feel the other one is favored. Saying that is so patronizing
So interesting that people who are bigots always blame others who see them for what they are. I am not saying you are bigot by the way, but you certainly have biases and your sexism is unconscious but there. I don’t understand your point with the slalom competition and her wearing a tiara...That’s what’s so great about women, we have the options. We could be tough as nails and soft as a kitten. When guys are too soft they’re made fun of because they are “too feminine” we can be both and I’m sure that was her point

I did not say that I value my daughter more than my son. I have one child, a daughter, and I value her at least as much as I would have valued a son. I agree with the rest of what you have said.

All right Renee, I wish you well.
Maybe one day you could have a talk with my daughter, I think that you may be a good influence on her.

Why did you lie and say you only had a daughter went on another post you write about your son and all your other children? This is what you wrote I-have one child, a daughter, and I value her at least as much as I would have valued a son

My grandmother was a teacher, and where I come from educators are respected. My daughter actually once told me that she wanted to be a teacher, and I think that she would make a very good teacher if she wanted to take that path.

I have only one child - my daughter. I said that I value her as much as I would have valued a son (maybe I should have added - if I had one). If I had a son as well, I would probably have treated them equally, or at least worked on doing that. What I have seen in most families is that some parents are closer to some children than they are to others. Because I have only one child, I do not suffer from that dilemma. I have just one child, and we are very close and always have been.

I just realized I am confusing you with yabber, . I am relieved because I think you are intelligent and was surprised at the gibberish i thought you were writing, ..I apologize . If your daughter decides to be a teacher I will gladly send her a copy of my book. :) It’s the greatest profession.
Many years ago I said to my father, “because I was a girl you didn’t encourage me to do anything but be a teacher and I could’ve been a doctor or a lawyer” he looked at me surprised and said, “but darling you loved teaching” and he was right. Had it been today I might have gone in for a better paying profession that is now open to me and I would’ve missed the most wonderful profession and the most wonderful experiences I had, knowing I Had an Impact on thousands of kids
