I just heard that from journalist Normand Lester on the radio (so no link - sorry): Let women fight ISIS! You see, among ISIS followers, there is this belief that if they are killed in what they describe as a holy war/crusade, they go to heaven with the 72 virgins etc, which makes fearsome, fanatic fighters out of them - but you already know that, don't you. What you probably didn't know, however, is that this guaranteed entry into Allah's paradise is denied to you if you are killed by a woman. Huh-huh. Looks like the ISIS fighters are literally terrified when they hear a woman's voice on the military frequencies they listen to. Their blind faith thus can be their undoing! Let us pack the armed forces out there with very visible - and audible women all over the airwaves! No need to actually put them on the fromt line... but use them as, well, poster-girls for the occidental intervention might have that extra edge we need to win the hearts 'n' minds out there. Funny how it turns out, mmmhh? What do you guys (and gals) think?

Really? I know a bit the Muslim tradition, but I missed this aspect. I'm thinking to Italian Army ... there are professional women in armored brigades, air forces, attack helicopter units, infantry assault troops ... I guess that a kind General Simona could do something about!
Me too, but I trust Lester on this; the guy is a credible, first-hand reporter and has been right on numerous, controversial subjets before. I was more or less disagreeing with the role of women in various armed forces and services, having second thoughts about those who ould be front-line, on the ground, but I must admit I never foresaw this clever a use for them. More power to them, I guess, as long as we wouldn't have to fight feminicists after the Islamists will be sent to limbo!
Yeh, right, and we should turn lose herds of pigs, they'll flee in terror. The ISIS will just rape and kill the women first. ISIS are evil incarnate, no argument there, but the idea that they're all just backward savages is convenient propaganda they put forth themselves so we will underestimate them
I don't think they fear the pigs. And nowhere it is said that being killed by one prevents you to get to Allah's, as far as I know. And besides, sounds like a waste of pigs to me. Where there is bacon, people usually do not fight. Well, yeah, that's definitely a concern. But Lester was specifically speaking about military communications - more the appearance of woman killing than actual women killing. You know, PR - in that aspect, the Occident still has the edge.
Fair enough.. but I have talked with a hundred Muslims over the years and they are not as "fundy" as our fundies.
After a bit of humor, I think that men or women it doesn't mind. ISIS Caliph and his buddies use religion, but I guess they are not that religious ... So, considering how they fight, elite assault infantry troops with the support of killer drones could be a good countermeasure [also mercenaries, why not?]. Women? The point is that they have to be good soldiers, but may be if they are nice ...
A good point; I guess a core of them really are religious die-hards, but IMO the rest are more or less following the pack, happy to experience rapture in whatever's name, cause or no cause.
We should paint ALL of the coalition missiles and projectiles PINK, then lay on very hard with radio transmissions that we know they'll hear, announcing that all pink munitions were fired by women. This way, when they see that their buddies were killed by pink fragments or bullets, they know them as "marked men".
