    Then the USSR should not have attacked first. Finland had done nothing to deserve being attacked. When they assisted Germany in attacking, they were getting even.

    Finland in any case would be on the side of the fascists. Therefore, the USSR moved the border further away from St. Petersburg. I would agree if it were an ordinary war. But Finland fought on the side of the fascists and killed people with hunger. The Finnish people are an accomplice of the fascists. This changes things.
