FLAT EARTH RANT #4 Did He Do It Again?

Foucault made his pendulum of lead with a brass surface, neither of which is magnetic. A constant force pulling in one direction (north) isn't going to produce the effect seen with Foucault's pendulum anyway.

The force is acting on the room housing the pendulum, not the pendulum. If you could point me to a northern hemisphere one advancing CCW, you'd have a serious counter argument that would need investigation. All you've come up with so far is a handful of nothing.

 

There is more going on than magnetism, that's what I was trying to say. In any case, the pendulum still proves nothing as to earth's movement. It's a nice piece of circumstantial evidence on the side of heliocentricity. It absolutely does not "prove" anything.

 

Agreed, the word "prove" is overused, often where "evidence" is more accurate. (I hope I didn't say proof in this thread.) I can't tell you how many "proofs" I've seen the Earth is flat! (lol)

But in this case, it provides very compelling evidence, for which I've yet to hear an alternate explanation.

That's somewhat wrong, you can make the water spin in the opposite direction pretty easily. But if the water is absolutely still, it will consistently spin in the same direction, depending on if you're on the northern and southern hemisphere. Clockwise to the north, counter clockwise to the south. But this is the kind of experiments flat earthers can easily meddle with, so it spins the other direction, by applying some force with a spoon or something to make a presumably still water spin the other way, not noticed by the eye, but still spinning.

But look at weather systems, they always spin clockwise in the northern hemisphere, and counter clockwise in the southern. But I doubt we'll be able to explain the Coriolis effect in a way he understands.

 

I don't think all of them are trolls--just most of them. I say this as a former high school member of the Flat Earth society. We were trolls, before there was such a thing as internet trolls.

 

Everyone knows that the Earth is a cube. Sheesh!

 

The problem that I have always had with the concept of the Flat Earth model is Antarctica. In the FE model, It's a ring around the edge of the flat earth. The "as the crow flies" distance between Palmer and McMurdo research stations is 2500 miles roughly.

Palmer is around 850 miles from the southern tip of South America, McMurdo around 2000 miles from southern tip of New Zealand

On a FE model...those distances do not make sense. On a FE model, the straight line distance from Palmer to McMurdo would be far greater than that. So much so that planes could not fly between them without needing to refuel along the way unless they were themselves a KC-135 or other type of flying gas tank.

Actually it sounds kind of hard to get the Coriolis effect to work with a do it your self experiment when it took 3 weeks in a controlled lab to get water down a drain that way.

But yeah I don't think the earth is flat just the same as I don't think Nuclear weapons are a hoax.

Are you saying that the earth moves under a helicopter. So the helicopter can just hover in one spot, and it's destination comes to it? If this cannot happen, neither is the earth moving under the pendulum.

Fact: In the northern hemisphere, the pendulum advances CW relative to the room housing it. It does this, whether you understand why, or not. The reason is made plain in my last video. Watch and learn. Or, squeeze your eyes shut and block your ears. Or, just stop trolling.

 

Wow you are very gullible!!!!!!!!!!! What your saying is that every experiment done to prove the motion of the earth has came back negative. Yet because one has allegedly proved the motion (a lot of scientists disagreed with the outcome of the pendulum), your saying one overrides all. Good luck with that!!!!!!! But the scoreboard is about 7 to 1 in favor of a stationary earth. And again, some scientists didn't even give the pendulum 1.

 

First, is English your 2nd language? If not, what is your education level? It can't be above 6th grade. I ask, because in the quoted post you used the word your (the possessive form of you, ex: your cat, your brain) three times where only the word you're (the contraction of the words you and are) makes sense. It reveals your poor education, which with all due respect, explains your inability to form sentences or comprehend logic.

They would have to stop roughly 2 million people, and that's just in this country!! Besides, they are not doing anything about it, because they know it's true. They are trying to start WW3, what's going on in the middle east, is practice for here. Oh it's coming. Maybe they feel with the aftermath of the war they can continue the lie (speculation). However WW3 is not speculation it's already here economically. It's coming. People arguing back and forth over left and right, is what they want.
