My guess would rather be, that the "Deep State", those that control America, would have no hesitation to nuke Russia.
Already years ago, they had no conscience to firebomb all larger German cities. I have afterwards seen Hamburg and Kiel, and we all have read and heard about Dresden. The potential competitor has disappeared [!]: the left - center coalition has collapsed [frankly speaking I don't mind to understand why!].
They have faced these elections divided and the result was predictable: we have won almost all the majoritarian electoral colleges ...

Personally I suspect they wanted to lose not to lead Italy through the incoming storm.
It's their choice. We will govern the country.
