Also, Miami mayor Suarez (R) is announcing mask mandates in public, not just indoors.

Florida reported 46,923 COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Tuesday, according to Wednesday’s report to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, based on Miami Herald calculations of CDC data. This is the largest single-day case increase of newly reported cases since the pandemic began.

I haven't checked the statistics but it sure seems a lot of red states are trying to wipe out their population.

Yet the population purge from blue states to red states continue. How can that be? Maybe because Omicron isn’t really too scary when you look at the science.

I love how people like OP pick and choose covid news stories to fit their political leanings.

He’s been bashing FL since it began. Not sure why he hasn’t moved to much “safer” blue states by now.

There is still a small "remnant" of people in the US who still don't comprehend the matter. You are one of the remnant.

I'm glad you found something to love. I talk about Florida because I live here. The spike is not a political issue for me, but obviously it is to you.

It doesn't work like that for me.

I comprehend it just fine. NY and FL went about it all a bit differently yet the end result is similar, except for the economic destruction that befell NY compared to FL. Not possible according to you. Or you don’t even comprehend what happened or is still happening.

The mandates haven’t really saved lives, but they sure destroyed the economy and convinced a lot people that giving up all your rights is acceptable.

No, you don't and you just proved it with your uninformed question.

According to me? It would be very helpful if you quoted me saying what you claim I have said, because I have no clue what you are talking about.

    Who cares?
    No one dies from omicron.
Might as well count cases of common cold.

Positve tests are not cases requiring medical attention. When people at low covid risk are tested there will be more positive tests but very few hospitalizations. It’s a waste of time to test them unless they are involved in the care of high risk individuals in which case those who come in contact should be tested regularly (even daily).

Florida has far outperformed California which locked down hard.

“For further illumination Florida should be compared to another large, diverse, mixed urban-rural state with a similar climate—California. Florida has the fifth oldest population in the country, while California is much younger, with the nation’s seventh youngest population. California implemented and maintained very stringent lockdowns.

    • Florida did better than California in protecting its citizens from dying. The overall age-adjusted per-capita COVID mortality rate in Florida is 118 per 100,000, while it is 168 per 100,000 people in California. California’s excess mortality rate was 58 percent higher than Florida’s (27 percent versus 17 percent).

    • Florida did better at protecting its minorities. Bhattacharya calculated that through March 28, 2021, Hispanics in LA suffered the worst of the pandemic, with a death rate of 338 per 100,000. Black and White residents had 188 and 119 deaths per 100,000, respectively. In Florida, by contrast, Black and Hispanic populations died at lower rates than the White population.

    • Florida did better at protecting jobs for lower-income people. According to Harvard and Brown University research, of March 31, 2021, employment for low-wage earners in California was down 38.3 percent. In Florida, employment for low-wage earners was increased by 0.4 percent.”

Are you a different person than the one who created this account:) Your posting history mostly revolves around blasting FL and Desantis while ignoring NY and CA. But if you want to laughably deny your history, have at it. You’ll run and hide like you usually do.

You started this thread blasting FL as usual, and you’ll ignore any comparison to states that have done far worse.

Apparently, you haven't been reading the news on Omicron: One reported death from Omicron.

Why don't you move to California where you can smell the wonderful aroma of human feces on the sidewalk as you wear your three masks and social distance from everyone you'll be safe.

Unless somebody breaks into your house because they want to steal your s*** and you didn't leave your car door open...

Florida is the beacon of hope to protect the individuals freedoms in a sea of authoritarian mandates from your Joe Biden administration.

There are plenty of s*** hole democratically ran States for you to relocate to that will give you all the mandates in the world that you crave.

Florida has had great success due to Governor Ron DeSantis who actually has taken the time to understand the science which obviously indicates that the best strategy is to protect our most vulnerable citizens.

“After initial closures, DeSantis reopened all Florida schools for in-person learning by August 2020. On September 1, he said, “We will never do any of these lockdowns again,” and ended business closures, discarded mobility restrictions, and eliminated mask mandates. In October, he lifted visitation restrictions to long-term care facilities, with guidelines. Almost all other US governors instead maintained school and business closures, mask mandates, restrictions on personal activities, and other shutdowns. Florida did not eliminate cases, hospitalizations, or deaths, and more will follow, given that the virus will not disappear. Predictably, a seasonal surge in Florida and the southern states is underway at the time of this writing. Over 37,000 Floridians deaths have been attributed to COVID-19. Florida, even with its large, high-risk population of elderly in 4,000 long-term care facilities, outperformed most states that maintained societal closures.

    • Florida outperformed the overall USA for COVID deaths per capita.

    • Florida outperformed twenty-five individual states (lockdown states) in COVID deaths per capita.

    • Florida outperformed forty states in overall age-adjusted COVID mortality.

    • Florida outperformed forty states in age-adjusted COVID mortality for those sixty-five-plus years old, the high-risk group.

    • Florida outperformed—by 40 percent—the overall United States age-adjusted COVID mortality.

    • Florida outperformed two-thirds of states in excess mortality increase (percent increase in all deaths over a non-pandemic year).

    • Florida outperformed—by 24 percent—the overall United States excess mortality increase. How did Florida compare to other large states with similar urban-rural populations and diversity?

    • Florida ranks number one of the ten largest states in lowest excess mortality.

    • Florida ranks number one of the ten largest states in lowest age-adjusted mortality for those aged sixty-five-plus.

    • Florida ranks number one of the ten largest states in lowest age-adjusted mortality for all ages.”

    July 2021, DeSantis publicly stated;

“The name of the game is to keep Floridans out of hospitals”

    Makes sense to me

Mr. AFM, does it make sense to you?

That’s what I don’t get. You have people that bitch and moan about how terrible their state is. If your life sucks THAT bad, then move. The misery and terror that Desantis is apparently causes him isn’t worth it. Move to NY. Move to CA. MOVE ANYWHERE!!! The sad thing is. Democrats complain about red states, yet guess who’s fleeing blue states and moving to red states? Yep!! DemocRats. Then they vote and try destroying what we have. Basic definition of a leech or virus, moving to a new host to suck dry and destroy.

If you have a point please make it.

The virus is what caused hospitalizations mostly people over 70 and with the CDC documented preconditions.

The DeSantis policies to protect those most at risk and allow those at very little risk to resume their jobs and education also minimized excess hospitalizations and deaths.

Seems obvious you don't care. About 1800 died yesterday alone.

Florida was locked down hard and long too. Do you mean that higher death rate = outperformed?

What measures is he taking to keep people out of hospitals, and how does he measure up considering 63 000 Floridians are dead from Covid? He did lock down the State in 2020, and mask mandates continued well into this year, but since then he has resisted every effort to combat the disease

Ah, blame someone else. That's new. LOL

Hot damn! Think about how irrelevant all those PCR based numbers will become after 1 January when the CDC will officially admit the PCR test cannot detect infection.

Those of us with open and informed minds have known this for 2 years or more. What we have, as Reiner Fuellmich has noted, is a pandemic of false tests.
