Since this forum appears to be about scouring the internet for any little thing we can find that makes our opponent look terrible I found this:

Would someone please explain this to me? -- because it really doesn't look very good for Republicans.

Really? If this is true, you guys are really diving the dumpster. Say it isn't so.

    https://www.huffpost.com/entry/flor...discussing-periods_n_64133f06e4b00c3e607277b2

Rep. Stan McClain's (R) admitted that his bill would limit girls from talking about their periods, although he clarified that was not the intent.

Well the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

the law of unintended consequences is a two edged sword. the question always remain whether those consequences can be amended or not. one would suppose that need based exceptions would be taken into account, but the opposition will always claim that they will not. one would hope that cooler heads will prevail and that reality will intervene.

Not being a girl myself I think I'd skip talking about my periods in school. And being a guy I find the whole subject is kind of creepy.

It was always that way here in CA. We need parents signatures to attend sex ed and it wasn't until 7th grade. One kid was a jehovahs witness and had to go to the library during sex ed. You and I can have our opinions, but why shouldn't parents have the final say?

This is exactly the same sort of stuff that GOP accuses Islamic states of doing. The ideological fervour underneath these types of Big Gov intervention is palpable.

Gee no girls discussed their periods when I went to school. Shockingly I survived..... as did my female classmates.

I graduated high school in 1970 and I think we had one or two slide shows in Social Studies class that explained how sperm meets egg. That was our sex-ed. And if you were absent that day you were pretty much screwed.

    Phew.

I see this does not also include men discussing their periods.

    Dodged a bullet.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out where girls are talking about their periods in school other than the nurses office.

And if they are.....why? I honestly don't know if this is a thing or not. Can't remember overhearing a group discussion on periods in school.

I'm sure girls in my school days had their own tables at recess and lunch where they discussed their periods and such. But certainly not on public forums like this. Not even close.

After actually reading what leftists are losing their minds about, this bill would only affect girls in Grade 5 and below......

How many girls are having periods at 9-10 years old? WTF?

I would much rather live in a world where we don't talk about periods with kids versus one where we have teachers talk about their sexual preferences and how children can identify as whatever sex they want.

    If I had to choose.

    Just sayin.

I'm sure the bill could be amended to allow it if you really need to talk to little girls about their periods.

You'll be happy to know men can still talk about their periods then.

I think they call it grooming. School curriculum creating an interest in sex before puberty even starts.

I'll put this with the other 2 idiotic Florida bills proposed recently... Although being Floriduh, I really should specify, but I don't want to..

So what are the cops gonna do? Bust into a 5th grade class and drag some girl off?

Probably to be forcibly impregnated at the direction of the state.. Any girl talking about sexual issues is way ready...

It's hard to imagine in 2023 that some men are still THAT afraid of the concept of women, outside of trying to approach them for mating purposes...

Ugh I don't even want to get close to that one again. I took 3 showers the other day after listening to sick people try and justify kids being exposed to sexual topics. That's some disgusting ****.

Plus when they're all in handmaid uniforms how do you tell them apart to arrest and impregnate the guilty one?

Yeah looks like less than 10%.

I'm gonna read this again. My brain resisted reading about it the first time.

Ok so from what I read, it restricts them from talking about it with their TEACHER.

Doesn't say anything about the school nurse or each other.

This is only sex ed materials in the curriculum.

In Florida, females are now presumed guilty from the get go.... so picking the right one isn't as much of an issue....

If it's about teachers making unofficial sex Ed. curriculum then I agree. But trying to stop a conversation with a teacher that comes up is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah but I also wouldn't want a male teacher taking a sudden interest in talking to a 10 year old about it either.

I mean the conversation should go something like:

Student: I need to go to see the nurse
    Teacher: Ok

    The end.
