RIVERSIDE COUNTY, California — Four times as much fentanyl is flowing across the United States-Mexico border under President Joe Biden compared to two years prior when former President Trump was in office.

During the launch of Reps. Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Ken Calvert’s (R-CA) congressional caucus dedicated to the fentanyl crisis, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Mark Dunbar of the Murrieta Station in southern California noted that the level of fentanyl seizures has skyrocketed in the last year.

“Across sectors, we’re seeing the amount of fentanyl coming across the border almost doubling,” Dunbar said. “What we’re seeing coming across is equal to the amount of Americans who are dying from it in the U.S.”…

his is so typical of the democrat regime. They’ve always put America and the American people last. They take pride in the amount of this drug they’ve inflicted upon us. One would think it was incompetence, I believe it’s malevolence.

Why is the amount of fentanyl entering our country of absolutely no concern to Let’s go Brandon and it’s regime?

"The level of fentanyl seizures has skyrocketed in the last year."

Biden is stopping this, Trump just let it in, not as many seizures under Trump

seizures being up is not a bad thing is it?

if people could buy legal drugs, the drug dealers would not be able to sell people drugs laced with fentanyl

I do agree that the war on drugs has failed and there needs to be a modernization of our pharmaceutical system. The issue lies in this however: Even if we decriminalize recreational drugs(which we should do), the black market exists primarily because it is a black market: IE: Some people like crystal meth, fentanyl, etc. The question on how to crush the black market is key. Are there 'safer' alternatives that give a high? Can we more effectively reach people for treatment and to be sober?

IMO, the successful solution to a healthy and robust American society requires us to take a multipronged approach to various issues.

agree, but when the other things like Marijuana are illegal, it forces people to go to where those other drugs are for sale

people want to get high, relax, party, we need to allow the safer options and punish the ones selling the more dangerous ones

even Marijuana is now being laced with fentanyl, when you buy things on the black market, no idea what you are getting

Seizures have quadrupled compared with Dirty Donny.

How does that indicate a lack of concern?

What is bad is the wide open border and the super spreader of covid and the spiking death rate of Americans from Fentanyl because of Brandon policies

Lol…it must be all those repubs having meltdowns because their great orange hope failed in his attempted coup after he lost the election.

    It reads:
By Fiscal Year 2021, which represents most of Biden’s first year in office, fentanyl seizures skyrocketed to about 11,200 pounds.

Biden is taking more drugs off the streets.
    Good job. Go Biden.

The actual reality is that the president really has little to do with how much of a drug is coming into the country and how much of those people bringing and selling it are getting caught.

Well one problem is knowing whether or not a drug has fentanyl mixed in. It is why getting test strips widely available should be the first immediate step to be taken.

Seizures are way up only because the amount of fentanyl that is coming in that hasn’t been caught increased exponentially more as has the number of Americans dying from overdoses of the stuff. It’s easy to seize 2-4x as much when you let in 10x more into the country

What evidence do you have that 10x as much is being “let in”?

I say you’re just making that up.

Increasing rates of the use of drugs like fentanyl typically means people are miserable or suffering economic depression.

If you look at the statistics, it is pretty concentrated in Ohio and a little bit in the surrounding Rust Belt region, which is not surprising. That region has been languishing after America outsourced most of its manufacturing industries to other countries. (There are more abandoned malls in Ohio than in any other state, as just one indicator)

If you take a look at the map in this link, it shows there was a 50% increase in fentanyl caused deaths in 16 states (mainly all across the Southwest, West Coast, Deep South, and 2 states in the Midwest) just from June 2019 to May 2020.

It has literally been killing people by exporting America's industry overseas. (Trump was trying to fix that problem, but Democrats did not care)

Did you pay attention to so many of these deaths being concentrated in the Rust Belt region of the country?

Maybe if YOU lived in the Rust Belt, you would care.

there you go again, trying to defend Trump, lol

the op states Biden is getting 4x more Fentanyl off the streets then Trump did

the op said "under President Joe Biden compared to two years prior when former President Trump was in office."

yet, you want to act like we should not compare Biden to Trump, if it makes Trump look bad.... why is that?
