The US has unilaterally imposed sanctions on Iran without any legal or UN mandate. Such santions are illegal and not legally binding.
The United States of America, of course, because of their wetlands, can override any law and they are mistaken in forcing the rest of the world to abide by the sanctions ... and the undeniable strength of the economy, or because of the US Unfortunately, while many are an important export market, some companies and countries are reluctant to do so ... but most do not.

Therefore, the very clear demand is for Canada to release the woman immediately ... and let her to leave the country.
That would also be a strong sign of Canada to the idiots in the White House and for the rest of the world that the US has no wild card and can do whatever they want.
And when the little poison dwarf in the White House spits fire with rage and threatens Canada ... the EU has a free trade agreement with Canada and gladly takes on the part of the USA!

 

True though, we told them what to do, they do it. look at NAFTD, we tell them to arrest CFO they did it, knowing it would damage their relationship with china. Furthermore China don't recognize US sanction against Iran.
