A huge over reaction, I rather naively thought.

When you see the extent to which they shut down traffic, prevent people from going into store or even leaving apartments, it is quite shocking, they go so far as to re direct traffic,

this is not a few people praying, who are on rugs,in the street,
but hundreds of people are to arm
, this is clearly a provocation on their part.

"Every Friday, thousands of Muslims from Paris to Marseille and elsewhere
close off streets and sidewalks (by doing so, they close down local businesses and trap non-Muslim residents in their homes and offices) to accommodate overflowing crowds for midday prayers. Some mosques have also begun broadcasting sermons and chants of "Allahu Akbar" via loudspeakers in the streets.

The weekly spectacles, which have been documented by dozens of videos posted in.youtube.com, have provoked a mixture of anger, frustration and disbelief. But despite public complaints, local authorities have until now declined to intervene, largely because they have been afraid of sparking riots! "

Are they being provocative, in the knowledge that action won't be taken against them for fears of riots,

.. and perhaps as well, so that they can have a propaganda campaign of how oppressed Muslims are
by the French government..and of course, calling them all bigots and anti-Muslims.

They have the French "over a barrel" seemingly, but France is taking action against these unfair and illegal disruptions to many people's lives.

    Good for them!

It has taken over two years to do it, but they have a lot more courage then many other countries !

Too bad, they don't have soccer fields in France, then the Muslims could pray without disrupting French travel and commerce to flex their political muscles.

When it comes to issues , such as the banning of praying in the streets, the truth of the Arab spring ,examined...the fact that a Libyabn man, killed his three daughters who had been raped,

THERE SEEMS TO BE A CONSISTANT UNWILLINGNESS TO

ENGAGE IN DISCUSSIONS OF CERTAIN SUBJECTS, WHICH RELATE TO

    ISLAM???

    I WONDER WHY

So this ban won't have any effect in the streets of Lourdes?

This isn't about praying. It's about requiring Moslems to show some respect and consideration for others. I think Islam requires that.

They should go a step further and outlaw all displays of religion in public.

Not a bad idea, but it's good to see they are starting with the most dangerous of religions.

Because it's a lie and just more right-wing hysterics aimed at inciting bigotry.
I have lived or stayed in Paris and and several other cites and towns in France since the 80s to the present, from Marseilles to Calais, and what you describe doesn't happen.
Only the rubes and bigots will fall for this tripe.

video proves it's the truth. Video that's been played before in other threads and video just in the previous post. Only the ignorant and the blind think it doesn't happen.

No religion should be allowed to do this without the proper permits and definitely not a weekly event.

Lol...No wonder you people don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.
You get all of your "news" from the likes of you tube and drudge.
Go spend a month in Paris and then get back to us about how disrupted your life was by praying Muslims.
People see what they want to see.
Bigots see hordes of evil Muslims wherever they look, whether it's small town USA, cosmopolitan Paris or London, or under their beds.
We had some cretin on the forum a while back trying to flog the same ******* rant about London, and he got his butt handed to him by several people who knew better.

Islam is not even a religion. they are just idealist nuts..that doesn't count as a religion.

Good for the french, we should start doing that here. Praying belong in the home anyway. I'm a christian and I never pray in public.

In the U.S., most public assemblies like that one requires a permit. Perhaps French authorities should look into that.

Why do you lie like this? You offer no evidence that any of the videos were wrong in any way.

Because he's "been there". That's like saying that I know more about Alaska than you do simply because I live here. Never mind the fact that a little Internet research would put you on the same level of understanding of Alaska's politics that I have. :-D

Google this question, and look at some of the videos..

    I was shocked..

....or don't, and just pretend you know what is happening!!!

This is a FACT, and a presenting a FACT is not bigotry of any sort, unless you

believe that reports of, say, the riots which took place in the Uk , where I

live, not too long ago were "Bigotry" as well !!! LOL

You people don't really have a clue about what constitutes evidence for an accurate picture of reality and what is just partisan ranting, do you?
I can find you "FACTS" that paint anybody on earth in a negative light, but that's not the same as understanding the whole picture and the underlying reality.
Get in bed with the bigots if you like, but don't come here spouting your partisan spin on things and expect people who know better to take you seriously.
