    The "Special Day of Prayer for the President" event will take place at participating churches next Sunday.



    The statement reads:

    "We the undersigned are calling for June 2 to be a special Day of Prayer for the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, that God would protect, strengthen, embolden, and direct him.

    "We believe our nation is at a crossroads, at a dangerous precipice. Trump has done a lot of good. He’s made America great again. It is a critical time for the country.

    Actually...Trump represents the greatest danger to America that America faces right now.

    Graham is an ass-kisser. If he lived in 1930's Germany, he probably would have set up a day of prayer for Adolf Hitler.

    What’s the point of praying? Surely your all-knowing god already knows what you want. Is it just a matter of your god wanting you to beg for it???

    Does god favor Americans over other nations? Does he not like the Chinese, or why would he support Trump in his effort to bring down China?

    "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God". Thus, I don't think God is on Trump's side.

    I was taught that one prayed for someone, not against someone.
    Perhaps this whole idea of being against each other is not good for the country.

    The way I was raised we are to pray for our government officials at all levels of government for their health and for God to grant them wisdom in their decision making whether we voted for them or not or whether we like them or not. It is a Christian duty to do so.

    I pray for Trump ever day in this regard. Of course I also pray he'll choose not to run for reelection and a less controversial Republican will be elected and serve well for fully eight years

    Since he had an American mother I never considered where he was born a relevant issue. To me he was always eligible to run.

    When you talk something over with your loving father are you begging him to help you or are you just discussing the issue with someone you know will, and probably already has, done all he can? Sometimes it helps just to have more eyes on the subject, and it surely cannot hurt if some of those eyes see everything.

    Any religion entering the realm of politics should have their tax exemption immediately and permanently revoked.

    How would the ‘man of god’ — who commanded all of his subjects to give away all they own — afford his new plane then?

    I would take anything that mail-order huckster says with a grain of salt; he'd be better off staying out of politics altogether and focus on getting more money out of his parishioners each Sunday when they pass the plate.
