No, not the End of the Beginning.
    The Beginning of The End
    tonight on HBO.

    Who gets out alive?

Remember, Jon Snow/Stark is really Jon Targaryean
by Daenrys oldest brother who was lawfully wed to her,
Ned Stark's sister who died just after child birth.
    Daenerys is Jon's aunt.
A set up for inbred royalty, like Joffery.

Some answers, maybe, in a few hours.
    Stay tuned.

Prediction: Jon Snow won't be the one winding up sitting on the Iron Throne.

I've never been able to keep up with it but the battles are awesome. The royal chicks are hot, and the sex is kinky. It's fun to watch.

Could the Iron Bank order the Golden Company north to fight I mean if the dead win they lose the Seven Kingdoms likely permanently with all the debts left to other parties and they did buy them? I think in the next episode the dead of the Starks will rise in ghostly form and physical to fight for the good guys the wards of protection there in the crypt were not weakened by Bran going there he might have seen this and that is why he is confident as is Tyrion.

My take on this who will kill the dragon of the Night King I think Anya could she has a special weapon get a vital spot and who knows but I'm thinking Dany and her dragon will do that perhaps she losing hers in the process, there is no way another living dragon won't die in Episode 3. Sansa might ally with the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms for her support once her cousin is out of the way- Jon will likely die) she could take the rulership as Queen of the North. And Dany should live I want to see her die or win and have nothing to rule the Iron Islands would want to be free as will the North and if she has no dragons good luck holding them. And Dorn might go their own way.

    Just some thoughts.

Will :worship: Kayla (GoT name) survive the wars to come?

And the follow up conversation of Tyrion and Bron with Podrick
about the whores refusing money for being with the virgin Podrick is priceless.

That's what he was named by his parents, Lyanna and Rhaegar Targaryen. Ned Stark renamed him Jon Snow (with Snow being how people of the North refered to bastard children) to keep him safe from Robert Baratheon. Aegon is a Targaryen name.

Is anyone "satisfied" with the episode of Sunday, 5/12.

    I'm not.
    Just noise & special effects.

    What's it all about?
Dropping the curtain on the series ASAP?
    Script writers layed off early?

I watched it again and liked it much more
    the second time.
    Grayworm's anger.
Dany doing what her daddy couldn't accomplish.
Tyrion wanders the ruins in disbelief.

The Dothracky (spelling) and Unsullied are probably happy enough

but, I bet other other allies are not so happy.

Dany's forces split in Civil War?
Or "off" Dany before the next war?

Season 8 is a damned joke taking many beloved characters and ruining them for all time.

Seriously, (beep) D&D and the bloody actors for not boycotting acting in Season 8 without them doing a proper ten episodes and a lot better script if the current writers weren't up for them replace them with someone else and make a epic last season done well either focus on the Night King and have that be the big bad even forcing Cersie to side with Dany to defend the living someplace good more South OR kill the Night King earlier having Jon as the main one fighting him (everyone expected that) maybe Arya using her powers getting the killing blow. And have Bran DO SOMETHING have him activate the defenses of Winterfell or counter the power of the night King using the ancient trees and his Green powers. He is useless and making that piece of **** King - NO! He's not worthy. Period. Not worthy!

For the most part, I enjoyed season 8. I agree with most that it was extremely rushed. I think B&B just wanted to be done. The claim was there wasn't enough story left for 10 more episodes in 7 & 8, but I call BS on that. There clearly was.

There's a middle ground somewhere between the glacial pace of season 1 and the rocket ship pace of season 8. There left so many fill-in-the-blanks. I'm okay with some ambiguity. I don't need it wrapped up in a bow, but there are a lot of assumptions that have to be made.

What's most disappointing is that the wheel wasn't broken. Now there's even more room for corruption. Bran needs a food taster, now.

Perfect arc awards go to Sansa & Arya. From beginning to end, everything in their arcs rang true. Second place to Dany. My major complaint with her arc is that even though I knew by season 2 that she'd do nutty things to get the power, I think it went way too fast between "will go mad at some point," and "OMG SHE'S HERE." Not enough lead up to justify her total slaughter of KL.

There was absolutely no chemistry between Dany & Jon.

The thing that seems weird to me is the undead arc. It is, after all, how the series opened and it's "resolution" in one episode seemed like such a waste.

The way it was resolved probably had a lot more to do with budget than storytelling though.

Varys death also strikes a discordant tone with me.....there would have been no one better to serve the Hand role than Varys.

My perfect arc award goes to Sandor Clegane. Hats off to Rory McCann for his portrayal and making that my favorite character in the series.

I agree with everything you said. I forgot about Sandor. His arc also rang completely true. Varys, of all the deaths, was the saddest of the entire series. He's the only character who wanted what was right for the people.

Tyrion's arc was a disappointment. He went from drinking & knowing things to total dumb-ass in a couple of episodes.

I'd say Jon held the same views about looking at the bigger picture like Varys. He didn't come out and say it, but everything he did was about the common good.....from trying to bridge the gap between the wildlings, north and south...to his final act where he ended Dany's intended continual cycle of war.

He always acted consistently in that way even when it got him killed or almost killed again. He always tried to do what was right, regardless of the personal cost.

Tyrion redeemed himself a bit at the end by coming up with the idea of voting for the king. He tried to do what was right, and could admit when he was wrong. Dany even fooled Varys until the end, and Varys was no one's fool.
